I don’t think I would book this hotel ever again. Avoid if you can!!! The hotel LOOKS beautiful and stylish but it is soooo unclean. We had a party of 5 people so we were split between two rooms (one double bed room & 3 single beds room). The double bed room smelt AWFUL as we walked in, a very strong sewage smell. We also noticed mould on the shower head and around the shower (photos attached). We asked the hotel for a different room and were told it was sold out so there were no more rooms and they would clean it. All the did was wiped the shower head briefly and sprayed air freshener around the room. Later on we also realised the room phone didn’t even work (not plugged in but didn’t even have a plug or wire) so if we needed room service etc we had to go to the reception. The most important thing was the AC DID NOT WORK!!!!! We spent every night so hot because the AC was so awful. The 2nd room was the 3 single beds, this room was a little better but as we walked in we noticed there was an old vape sitting on the shower head??? This hotel is in a very loud area and there is loud noise and cars beeping all night so it is difficult to sleep sometimes. The pool wasn’t the best as it was surrounded by residential apartments so did not even feel comfortable swimming or sun bathing. On a positive it’s in a good location right next to Taksim, but just too loud. Also they gave us discounted massages which were okay. Overall not the best experience. We were really trying to be hopeful as we had seen negative reviews only after we had booked but we were very let down.

Excellent experience here at the Opera Bosphorus Hotel. It all began with a nice welcoming from Hayri, advice from Yuksek, and excellent service from Erdal with a little daily lesson on Turkish. Overall the staff was always friendly and helpful with advise on how to get around. The view from our room towards the Bosphorus was the nicest thing to wake up to everyday or relax and meditate every night. Location is excellent, with just an 8 minute walk up the street you’ll arrive at the Taksim Square and walk down the famous Istiklal street. Walk five minutes down to the Bosphorus you can start another adventure towards Besikitas, walk to Galataport shopping area, or take the train towards Sultanahmed Mesquite and grand bazaar area.

Unfortunately the standard room was far below our expectations. First of all, it was in the basement which was never mentioned neither on the website nor on the booking confirmation. So, we switched to a superior (deluxe) room with city view which was far more expensive. The pictures were taken in the deluxe room! Apart from the lounge every floor had a very bad smell so that every time we came back to the hotel we were overwhelmed by the bad smell. - room service did not clean properly (floor and bathroom) - room with city view is far too loud due to traffic - congested sink, unstable toilet seat - unfriendly staff - bad service - not suitable for a four a star hotel in that price range

We travelled to Istanbul for a week at the end of May and had an amazing experience in Opera Bosphorus! The hotel exceeded our expectations in many ways. When we arrived we discovered that our room has been upgraded to triple room (booked regular double but asked for twin beds) free of charge. The triple room was very spacious, quiet and peaceful, overlooking the pool. The decor throughout the hotel and rooms is beautiful, with great attention to detail. ||In the room we had free safe, daily complimentary bottle of water, daily room service with excellent cleaning standard, fresh bedding and towels and new pairs of slippers daily! There was also a kettle, mini fridge, tea, coffee, creamer, sugar, but we were most impressed by the little touches such as hotel logo vanity kit with ear buds, shower cap, nail file, cotton pads and even several colour threads and needle. You also get large bottles of hand soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel which we didn't finish in our week's stay there. Our room was very quiet and peaceful, with comfortable beds. ||Our special thanks go to Yuksel at reception, he was outstanding, professional and friendly, giving us great advice on how to get to places and generally made us feel at home. No request was too much! The hotel manager, bar and restaurant managers and staff were also outstanding, friendly and very helpful! Big thanks to the wonderful Ayten! We are very grateful to every one of you for making us feel so welcome and looked after.||The pool isn't very big but is nice and clean, worth noting it catches the sun for several hours around lunch time and not all day, pool towels are provided. We did not try the spa but it looked lovely.||Finally the hotel restaurant overlooking Bosphorus was wonderful, we loved the view and thought the breakfast was delicious with a varied selection of dishes. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant several times and loved the food, although the prices are quite high but that is reflective of generally high prices in Istanbul, not specifically the hotel restaurant. As we arrived late on our first night, it was a nice surprise to discover that the restaurant serves food 24 hours a day as we were able to order food to our room. On the top floor, there is a rooftop restaurant separate from the hotel which we also enjoyed, the view of Bosphorus there is even better. ||Overall we would highly recommend this hotel, great value, good customer service, beautiful interiors, lovely pool and central location with walking distance to Taxim and metro (tram) stop. We thought the hotel felt more like 5* in many ways, especially attention to detail and the little extras you get. Thank you Opera Bosphorus, can't wait to stay with you again...

It's my fav. Hotel so far. I stayed in opera hotel a couple of times and they never disappoint me. Everything is great honestly. Their breakfast is nice a typical turkish breakfast with diff. kind of cheese, cold cuts, olives, vegetables, honey, borek, eggs, fresh fruits, jams and other stuff (don't miss their fresh simit). Their food is always fresh and the service is 👌👌👏

You get to enjoy your breakfast with a bosphorus view which is a plus if your room is a city view. Ahmet & ayten are very professional and nice. Actually the staff is very helpful and welcoming starting from the receptionists to the bellman.

We booked 2 connected rooms (Bed & Breakfast) with full bosphorus view, both of them has a balcony. It might be a bit overpriced compared to the hotels in the area but the view is just wow and you get what you pay for.

And my previous trip, I booked a partial bosphorus view room. Both of them were great.

Everything went smooth starting from the booking (I booked through their WhatsApp no and then they sent me a payment link) to the moment we left the hotel. They took care of everything and all my requests.

Its location is also a plus. It's near Akaretler / Nisantasi /sisli (20-30 mins walking) and also too close to taksim and Istiklal (walking distance). The street is full of nice cozy restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies and atm machines. Its also close to the public transportations. But you need to consider something, it's in a uphill street not a straight one.

Special thanks to opera's guest relation manager Manal🙌she is nice, decent and very helpful. She and the staff make the hotel feels like home.

Thanks Opera hotel team for always making me satisfied....

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Stay at Opera Hotel Bosphorus

We stayed 5 nights at Opera Hotel Bosphorus, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The hotel is meticulously clean in every corner, and to our surprise, we were even upgraded to a better room than the one we booked with a Bosphorus view.

A very special thank you goes to Murad at the reception—when we lost some belongings in a taxi, he went above and beyond to help us recover them. His kindness and professionalism really made a difference in our stay.

The breakfast is exceptional—always fresh, beautifully presented, and remarkably unique. It’s the first hotel where I never got bored of breakfast, as every dish has its own distinct taste.

The outdoor pool is a rare gem in Istanbul, clean and relaxing, and the location is perfect—close to everything yet on a calm, quiet street where we never had to worry about noise.

The rooms are spacious, well air-conditioned, and extremely comfortable. The bed felt like home, and waking up to the panoramic Bosphorus view with the sound of birds was like living in a dream. Watching the sunrise and sunset over the water from our room was breathtaking and unforgettable.

This was the 15th hotel I’ve stayed in Istanbul, and without a doubt, it will always be my go-to hotel for future trips.

If I had to mention one small downside, it would be the occasional sewage smell in the lobby and between some rooms—but this seems to be a common issue in many Istanbul hotels and did not affect our overall amazing stay.

In short, Opera Hotel Bosphorus exceeded all expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone...
