My adult children and I were looking for a "classic" style boutique hotel near the center of the old section of Sanliurfa. This hotel is that place. It's within easy walking distance of the city sites and the center of the old city. The building, that was formerly a school, is tastefully updated. Our room had a small rooftop sitting area that gives a nice view of the city. I suspect that most of the rooms are uniquely configured because of the structure of the original building. Our room could sleep four was stocked the usual hotel accessories was clean and beds were comfortable. No chrome and glass here. The complimentary Turkish style breakfast is a good start to the day. We had no problem arranging hired rides to and from the airport. We found two very good restaurants serving Turkish cuisine within easy walking distance. The staff was friendly and whose English was a bit better than my Turkish. Google Translate will be your friend here is you have...
Read moreI stayed here for 3 nights this past weekend. This is a lovely hotel in a 500-600 year old building. My room had a peaceful view of the courtyard. The room was simple yet comfortable with a good-sized shower in the bathroom. It was cold at night, but the A/C unit is also a heater so I was fine. Breakfast is served individually to your table with tea and coffee. The only note I have for other visitors is to be aware that, as a very old building, there are no elevators, so it may be a little difficult for people who struggle with higher steps.
The location is perfect. It took me around 10 minutes to walk to the Balikligol, and 20 minutes to the Mosaic Museum and Şanliurfa Museum. There is a local market nearby and many restaurants. The #63 bus also passes in front of the hotel.
Staff are helpful and they can arrange for transportation from...
Read moreI know I should not risk myself to say "never again in this place" but, in this case, I think I can say that. First of all, I can hardly qualify this as a "hotel". For any of us, hotel means a clean, quiet place to rest, have a shower and sleep at the end of the day. In this case, everyday you have music from 8 to 11pm, and no sweet music that you can hear but drums and flutes playing at tjeir highest volume!. The room only is slightly clean if you ask for it, and the only reason they gave was "there only one key of the room". Finally, the bathroom door in our room (number 1) was only about 1,40 m. High. You can imagine how usually you knock your head with the frame. ||The combination of all this factors, and others that I cannot summarize here, is the reason why I should recommend to...
