Seabreeze Lounge Rooftop Restaurant — Restaurant in Fatih

This was the worst restaurant we have eaten at in Istanbul. The people are friendly but 1) the food was not good - the shrimp were mealy and old, the squid was rubbery and tough, the oysters were overpowered with garlic and breading, the lentil soup showed no traces of a lentil, and the lamb shish was nearly un-chewable, 2) it had only 2 other customers, and we saw one leave early, and 3) location is quite inconvenient, and 4) they managed to charge us more than the food at Matbah cost for a meal we didn't even want to finish. And they did so by presenting a scam bill (not what we ordered) that I didn't notice until later because we were in such a hurry to leave.

If it weren't for the hungry and charming cat, and our ability to feed the food we chose not to eat to other cats along the walk home, there would have been nothing redeeming at all.

When we arrived we thought that this a 4.9 fish restaurant. We found 2 fish plates for sharing, one costs 2950 and the other the waiter told us it is 4000 TL as the picture shows it has more shrimp and calamari which were already present in the 1st plate. When serves we found it contains 2 shrimps and 2 pieces of calamari with 2 fish and 2 fried red mulet ( burbon ) fish. The shrimp was old with the shell hard to peal off, the calamari tasted bad. At the end we asked about the actual plate we ordered and the difference between it and the other plate, they told us that the difference is in the red mullet fish ( 1000 TL extra in 2 small fish and almost no shrimp and calamari) To be honest at the end they made a discount after we spoke to the manager. But at the end I do not recommend this place for someone seeking seafood, the place was empty ( we should have been alert to that ), the seafood was not fresh. We absolutely loved our experience there. The food was absolutely delicious. We have been to some local restaurants that were expensive but not tasty. In this restaurant we definitely got the food that was worth our money. Not only the food was great, but the service was absolutely beyond reproach. After our dinner was complete we even got a free dessert. And it was delicious too. Besides the food, the view from the restaurant was precious as well.
