I’ll start with what happened first. So we also decided to pay the 50€ for the airport shuttle. After exiting at gate 8, you cannot get back in. We waited by the designated sign for 30 minutes until a woman arrived holding her coffee. We attempted to ask the female security guard inside if we were in the right place, but she waved / shooed us away like we were peasants. We were then taken to where the driver met us. We sat down and started the trip but the driver was on his phone. We thought it would be just for one quick call to dispatch himself, but no, the conversations lasted but not only speaking, while on the highway going 100 + Km’s an hour, was texting with his eyes off the road. After 20 minutes of driving I had to tell him I didn’t feel safe with him texting and driving. His response was yes I can see the road. He then stopped obvious using the phone but we saw him still looking at texts. When we arrived, we were also let off down the hill, but an attendant met us and carried our bags. ||We didn’t realize when we booked that an economy room came with a room right beside the customer service desk and the window to the dining room, which meant all conversations at the desk and the dining room would be audible from the room. I expressed my concern about both my ride and my room and I’m sure he thought I was trouble. We were in the room for 10 mins and he received a cancellation and we were relocated to the 3rd floor. Better, but the hallways are small, you can hear everything through the paper thin walls, and because it’s tiled floors and the doors close very hard, we were constantly disturbed by other guests going in and out, visitors from France didn’t care that they were talking loudly in the hall, sometimes on personal call in the hallway where again, came right to us cause the walls have no soundproofing. The talking could be heard from every other room. Then there is the outside street noise, men working on this street talking so loud from 0600 and having coffee outside their shops until midnight. Really wasn’t pleasant. The design is nice, but the soundproofing 0/5. ||The location was good, the staff are very nice. After the complaint about the driver, the company only charged 25€, but we elected to go home with the subway. We hoped that the taxi company didn’t say don’t charge us at all, but either way it was some compensation. For those of you who will try the subway route, the information on price is hidden so I’ll share. |The streetcar is 27 Lira, and you can get to M11 [that goes to the airport] on the M2. Altogether was about 75 -90 minutes - a lot of walking and the elevators were slow. After you tap with your red metro card, the M2 is 27 lira and the M11 charges you 39 Lira….so 66 TL to get to the airport from the beginning of the M2. A shuttle costs 50€ which is 2,000 TL. ||The pictures of the hotel did make me feel I was on a very nice street, but wasnt so impressed. The bonus is just up the hill a few steps is Cemberlitas streetcar stop. ||The breakfast was good, could use some variations, but plenty of good things. Coffee was always hot. If there are groups, the dining room fills up fast and things eaten up quickly. ||I wouldn’t stay at the same hotel twice unless it was amazing, so bye bye Pell Palace. ...
Read moreWe stayed 2 nights in the superior triple w balcony. The staff at PELL PALACE were GREAT! check in was a breeze-easy! Thx! We visited the SPA -Hamam in the basement & it was FANTASTIC-clean & very well maintained! Great summer deal- promotion sale going on in Aug 2024. The spa- Hamam area looks brand new down there! Our Hamam attendant (female from Uzbekistan-sorry I forgot her name)- she was AWESOME! Managing both my husband & I for OVER an hour + half! We also had excellent help from OZGUN- w/ our baggage at check in & esp at check out bc at the time of this review (Early Aug 2024) there’s major road- plumbing or sewage line work in front of hotel so we needed to get airport transfer from a well known hotel (for ease of navigation) about 2-3 min away. He gladly helped carry our luggage. (We always come back w 1 or 2 more suitcases of bargain purchases from Istanbul! Soaps, shirts, rose water & more) The hotel room was small, but average for Istanbul. The room was clean but the hotel is showing signs of “wear & tear” (esp in bathroom- NEED major hard water REMOVAL treatment on metal & stone/ marble). The walls were scuffed in areas. Overall- if there’s some more room-maintenance done, I think the hotel can maintain good ratings. The breakfast was good- had a few different options on each morning. The coffee-latte machine was my favorite (next to the Hamam spa!). Our terrace was clean & had a cute “cafe table” w 3 chairs…all in excellent condition. There’s a small fridge in the room & a supermarket about 2-3 min walk down street “SHOW” market on google maps. Got some drinks & snacks for the room. They set our room up w 3 singles- twins-which prob took up more walking space but we were only there 2 nights so it was fine. We all slept great and beds were comfortable! A/C cooled well :) Shampoo- conditioner- soap + even Shoe shine-sponge,shoe horn & mini sewing kit provided …NICE touches… esp this day in age when hotels are moving to the attached pumps w so/called organic products inside but yet they never feel like it;) haha. The little touches make a difference! They provided us w plenty of clean towels. There’s a kettle & some instant tea etc in the room. Overall I’d rate 9/10 …mainly room maintenance issues esp in bathroom-hard water buildup/rust etc. try CLR (calcium lime rust) but my husband thinks some things need full replacement bc of damage. Great location-just down from Constantine’s column (burnt column) Cemberlitas…. So a wonderful in between spot…few minutes to grand bazaar area & a few minutes to Sultanahmet /Hagia Sophia etc. we love Istanbul & have been tagging on a few nights at the end of our recent international trips by using Istanbul as our connecting airport. Thanks for...
Read moreMy recent stay (19.04-28.04.2023) at Pell Palace Hotel & Spa in Istanbul was an experience beyond compare. From the moment I stepped foot into this remarkable hotel, I was enveloped in a world of unparalleled hospitality, breathtaking views, impeccable service, and an unbeatable location.
The staff at Pell Palace deserves the highest praise for their warm and welcoming demeanor. Emre and Kadir, alongside Asatbek, showcased professionalism and attentiveness that surpassed all expectations. Their genuine care for guests, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile were truly remarkable, making me feel cherished and valued throughout my stay.
Ideally situated in the heart of Istanbul, Pell Palace's prime location allowed for effortless exploration of the city's iconic attractions. Whether strolling through the historical wonders of Sultanahmet or immersing myself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Grand Bazaar, everything was conveniently within reach. Access to public transportation further enhanced the hotel's convenience, enabling easy exploration of the city's hidden gems.
The service at Pell Palace was nothing short of exceptional. The meticulously maintained facilities and elegantly decorated rooms blended modern comfort with classic charm. The housekeeping staff ensured that my room was always spotless and that any request I had was promptly attended to. While the hotel excelled in various areas, the breakfast fell short of my expectations. The offerings lacked variety and did not showcase the diversity of Turkish cuisine as expected. Nevertheless, the attentive service provided by the staff during breakfast helped mitigate this shortcoming to some extent.
During my stay, Pell Palace delighted me with a complimentary birthday cake. This thoughtful gesture exemplified their commitment to creating unforgettable moments for their guests. The cake, a delicious treat, made my birthday celebration even more special and memorable.
In conclusion, Pell Palace surpassed all expectations, making my stay truly unforgettable. The combination of remarkable hospitality, impeccable service, and an enviable location makes it an unparalleled choice for travelers visiting Istanbul. My heartfelt thanks go to Emre, Kadir, Asatbek, and the entire team at Pell Palace for their unwavering commitment to creating a haven of luxury and warmth. Without hesitation, I highly recommend this extraordinary hotel to anyone seeking a truly remarkable and memorable experience.
