Friday night, after my spa visit, I went to this restaurant as I usually do. I placed my regular order—pasta, mint lemonade, and kanafa—three times in the past without issue. I was dining alone and on the phone while eating. When I requested the bill, I noticed four items listed. The fourth item was 102, so I asked what it was. The waiter claimed it was “taxes,” but by that time, he had already swiped my card. The word written on the bill was “kurva”—a vulgar and offensive term.

When I looked it up, I realized it was an intentional insult. I later learned that Harun and Mustafa thought it was “funny” to put this on my bill. This behavior is disgusting, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable—especially in the hospitality industry.

I regret ever supporting this restaurant. The men who work here showed blatant disrespect toward women and behaved in a sexist, racist, and bigoted manner. People like this should not be employed in any service industry.

I will be reporting this incident to the Turkish Department of Tourism and informing the American Embassy. I urge others: do not support this...
