Ortaklar Kebap Restaurant — Restaurant in Fatih

Fresh, delicious and truly authentic.

On the eve of leaving Istanbul, we were recommended this 3 story restaurant with food being prepared around you as you walk through the door.

Greeted with big smiles, the chefs and wait staff took us up to the second floor and we were seated by the window overlooking the streets. We didn't get a chance to sit on the top floor as it was full but it was beautiful either way.

As usual we over ordered but didn't know the portions were going to be gigantic.

We started with chips, mante, mixed pide, chicken kebab, salads and bread.

Everything started to come fast with the food presented beautifully. For the first time, we had hot french fries. They were so good to start with.

Everything was spectacular that we returned for lunch before we flew out of Istanbul.

What was even more surprising was the price. We really gourged on a lot of food and it came to $46 USD.

If you want to try a unique traditional dish, have the mante (Turkish ravioli) and ask for extra garlic. It's the only way to have it!

The chicken kebab was so moist and perfectly cooked with crispy salad, and it was huge!!

All the meze that comes prior to even starting the food you ordered is divine.

We noticed a common trait in all restaurants around Istanbul that might get people worked up. Service staff are a little unattentive but food delivery is lightning speed.

Overall it's worth giving it a try. It's one of the best restaurants you'll visit...

I ordered bean soup and Adana kekab, soup taste ok but it is not hot enough. However the Adana kekab is a nightmare, it is full of lamb smell that I really can’t accept, before I ordered, I checked with the staff it is beef meat, however I just taste a piece,I can’t stand the lamb/ animal smell, I google it’s made of mixing mince meat and fat, mostly, be mixed by lamb and beef mince meat, I checked with the staff again, they insist it’s made of beef, maybe it’s true and I said it’s taste just like lamb smell for me and I can’t stand it. The staff just mentioned it’s made of beef again. So I just paid and left and then ate at burger king that nearby. So disappointed. I think they should remark it made of mince meat and fat on the menu or remind customer if they ask what it is. For someone like me that only go for pure meat and dislike animal smell, won’t order mince meat if I know it. Please find the second picture that I left the dish, i chopped the meat in pieces for easy eating at the beginning and tried a little..and I told another seem like senior staff that i can’t finish this due to the...

I went to Ortaklar based off of the high reviews, and i was extremely disappointed. Yes, very cheap food will draw you in, but the lack of taste, the oddly smelling food and the potential food poisoning will stop you going back! The food had no taste, the meat smelled old and tasted off! Issue number 1. I was with my elderly parents who struggle with walking let alone stairs, asked to be seated downstairs, was told no chance and have to go up one flight of stairs... Ok, i confirmed with parents and that's fine, we get to floor 2, again no seating so up again, i complain that's inappropriate, get met with apologies and one more flight of stairs. Again we go up to be told we will only be seated up again on the rooftop terrace 😡 Issue 2, we asked for ketchup and other sauces, after asking 4-5 times they arrived after our very disappointing food. Personally will never come back and am shocked at the highly rated reviews of this very below par "restaurant"/ fast food establishment.
