In business, just as in life, we occasionally rely on the help of others in the pursuit of success and happiness with our decisions. Sinan Hanya at Ruby Ceramics and Gift Shop went beyond expected during our purchases at the store sharing his life experiences through the making of this family business with a great heart. Without Sinan's help with our purchase of many pieces it would have been a lot harder and worked amicably without pressuring us as customers. He provided input and great discounts that made it impossible to beat. His prices were much lower and the beautiful ceramics were uncomparable to those found at the Grand Bazaar. Sinan's character and appreciation were so uncommon that we owe him an act of genuine gratitude that when this happens it builds a relationship between you and the business owner. His products were exclusive and of the highest quality. He went through the process of describing how his original masterpieces were made. He only provides pieces of art that are very unique. Thank you Sinan and family for making our first purchase with RUBY extraordinary. ! We’re so glad that we found what we were looking for. Sinan showed an innate inner drive to connect to one another and when that drive is liberated, people achieve more and live richer lives. Our experience has enriched the possibility to decorate the home we are remideling. Again very thankful to all at Ruby and truly recommend...
Menderes and his brother's shop is not just an incredible ceramic shop. It is also a haven of peace, an incredible place where your eyes will not know where to look so much the beauty and the quality of the works is unique. It's not a shop but a life's work, two brothers who follow the family tradition and take turns working every day from 6 am to 3 am the next day, where sense of respect and human discovery is stronger than sense of business ! The artists who create the bowls, plates, dishes, pots, vases, jars, amphorae ... use the old process of manufacture, in the mountain and the "hand-made" is visible from the first second, for our biggest happiness! Menderes is THE person who marked this trip to Istanbul, I often talk about him and I hope to find him again, in Turkey, in France or somewhere on Earth. If you think you know the pottery, forget everything and let yourself be carried in this modern cavern facing the most beautiful (and unknown) water reservoir of Istanbul (free visit).
For ever this memory will remain: the light that goes out and every millimeter of ceramic encrusted with phosphorus that comes to life, like a delicious night filled with stars!
Thank you Menderes for everything you did for my Great friend Pablo and me. I carry you in my heart!
Read moreA great place to buy authentic, hand made in Turkey ceramic vase, bowls, plates, tea sets or Iznik tiles to bring back home as a souvenir. Sinan is very professional & will explain to you about the process of making these art pieces, its a family business & they have been doing this for quite a long time from their father & now to them, a few brothers running it now. He will show you how you can tell a fake one from the real ones while offering you apple tea & turkish delights. He will not pressure you to buy anything & you can take your time to decide. They offer shipment as well or if you want to bring back home by yourself, they will wrap it up real good with a few layers of bubble wrap. I ended up buying a plate, a framed 4 pieces of Iznik tiles that glows in the dark & a Turkish style tea pot. As he was wrapping it up for me, a pair of small sized blue coloured bowls caught my eyes, I took it from the display shelf & put in on the table to decide which ones to add to my collection and to my my suprise, Sinan told me that I can have these 2 pieces for free! Thanks Sinan & I will definitely recommend your shop to all my friends if they ever want to visit Istanbul! Your friend from Singapore (the one who gave u a $2 Singapore note as a tip so that you can display it on that table because you...
