OMG! This hotel understands service. Turkey is a very customer/ service oriented country but... the Khalkedon really is outstanding.
The Khalkedon will register your HES code on your Istanbul card. The Khalkedon will arrange for the nurse to come to the hotel to do your PCR test as well!
We only had breakfast there and the selection was outstanding so we did not get bored of the meals even on our 10th day there. The restaurant/ canteen is run by a wonderful man. The staff are never still and don't hang around and chat. They are constantly on the move between checking and refilling the buffet, cleaning up as the tables empty and anticipating guest's needs. With me it was the door being shut and locked when the smokers went out onto the balcony and then ensuring that they opened when those guests needed to reenter.
Rooms are clean and very well equipped. Any point brought to their attention is dealt with almost immediately with the guests availability and the urgency of the problem being considered.
The staff do not harass you and you can get assistance from any staff member no matter your issue.
A very big shout out to all the staff especially Anıl and Ilyas. They were super helpful...
Read moreThe area is very good, close to Moda, full of restaurants. If you want a quiet room, this is not the place for you. The staff helps IF requested, and that’s it. I constantly had the feeling it’s a family business and not exactly professional. They (personnel) are fairly nice, but most times we arrived the person responsible for the reception at the moment was out smoking (seems to be something ok in turkey), or talking to friends outside or playing online battle games on the hotel PC. ||The shower head barely works, the internet is non existent! You can’t even use it for WhatsApp!!! Cleaning is average, and the breakfast is ok. There’s no lift, and if you don’t ask for help, you’ll have to carry your luggage upstairs yourself. There’s no view of the river from the terrace as advertised...you see buildings on buildings (still a nice view, just not what they say) and theeeen a little bit of it maybe. ||We wouldn’t stay at this hotel again because there’s a horrible smell coming from the bathroom like someone had been smoking in there right before we got in...and it’s a non-smoking room. The smell is so strong I had trouble sleeping and had to open the windows (though it was around...
Read moreA delightful little hotel in the bohemian Caferağa area of Kadıköy, within a short distance of the Kadıköy pier that provides access to the European part of Istanbul. The hotel has a pleasant vibe despite the somewhat rundown air around the area (which I, personally, liked). It is surrounded by shops and restaurants full of people late into the night, and everyone is friendly. In fact, I liked the area so much that I've booked a room in this hotel again!
The family rooms in this hotel are good and clean, with a high ceiling and pleasant design. The delicious breakfast on the top floor will provide you with good exercise in the morning. There is also a terrace with good views of the neighbouring area. If you want to stay in Kadıköy, you can do much worse than stay in this lovely...
