Kadı Nimet Bakery&Coffee — Restaurant in Kadıköy

Poor service; the waiters tried to sell us raki(efe) which they have a special deal with, altought we were clear that we wanted to have another brand(yeni raki) you get totally different service based on your order. We started with meze and they thought that that would be our overall order. No one ever came to our table to check if we are all good. And then we placed a new order which included one of the most expensive fishes in the display we received the best service; table cleaned, glasses changed and the tone of voice of the waiters has improved significantly. Hypoctrical. Our fish arrived which had a funny smell, most likely it wasn’t fresh at all. We told the waiter that the fish doesnt smell nice and taste funny. Instead of saying if we like to have anything else. He started telling us, this is impossible :O and when we asked him to taste it and tell us what he thinks. The waiter said, he doesn’t like fish that much. What a joke!

The long story short. This place is not a cheap restaurant at all. it has poor service and you may end up eating old fish for premium price if you don’t go and pick your fish from the counter. I’m not exaggerating but my experience in this restaurant was one of the worst i have ever...

I have no idea how or who is giving this place 5 stars but I can guarantee anyone that even the one star option does not describe how terrible this place is in reality. First of all the prices are twice as high as in any other fish restaurant even those located right at the seaside. Secondly the options on the menu are very limited as most of the fishes are either not available or obtainable at a price of 100 Lira or more per fish. The starter with breaded mussels was a mere joke. One mussle cut into 4 pieces with a bread crust around it. Also the portion of calamari fritti for 50 lira is tiny and you need another meal somewhere else so that you don't go home hungry.

The waiter was also unfriendly and obviously had no intention to even try doing his job properly. It was especially rude that he started to already put the new plates and cutlery on the table before we finished with the wine.

They have great options for fish. You can buy your fresh fish by kilogram and have it cooked the way you like in the restaurant. But make sure that you understand if the price charged is by kilogram, or per fish. I felt like overcharged one time when they charged me per fish they cooked (they do that for larger types of fish). Their mezes are quite rare selections and delicious too. But what I don't appreciate so much about this place is that the waiters make it obvious that they are not happy when you're careful about your budget.
