We stayed at Villa Ephesus for 3 nights to conclude our 10 day trip in Turkey. There were only a couple guests at the hotel which was great for quiet nights for sleeping (very rare treat on our vacation).
Summary: Recommend to stay for those hoping for a good night's sleep and have their own car and can travel at their own pace without tours. And if you have your own sim card with lots of data.
Pros: absolutely stunning and individually curated pieces of art in each room -tranquil oasis in the middle of a resort town, it is uniquely situated with easy access to the harbour front and perfect for walking around the city. the pool is a nice addition to relax in after hot days the bed was extremely comfortable
Cons: wifi was very unstable and wasn't working for the most part. This was communicated with the owner however was not resolved
we went on a boat tour booked through the hotel. Though it was not clarified beforehand, it was my impression that the boat tour would be only for the guests booked through the tour agency. It turned out to be a tour that took us to the harbour on a public boat where we stopped briefly at 3 harbours and music was blasting the entire 8 hours. While it may be what some travelors are looking for, it seemed like a lack of judgement from the Hotel owner to recommend this type of your for his guests . hot water took quite a while to come
-breakfast spread was varied, however there was no freshly squeezed orange juice, an outlier for our 10 day stay in Turkey.
breakfast is strictly offered at 8:30 and 8:15 if you're lucky - this created a very rushed breakfast every single day due to tour times. One day it was offered at 7:30am , but this was because another larger group was also leaving early.... ? there were many many rules sent to guests, many of which seems like common sense but i guess they are there for a reason. However it does seem emotionally laborsome...
Read moreSince the moment I made the reservation, Okan contacted me. He also arranged our transportation pick up from the Izmir Airport. Our flight was one hour late and I didn't have service on my phone! Thank God when we went outside there was Ozan waiting for us, holding a sign with our names on it. We felt so relieved! We had a little over 1 hour drive but Hassan and Ozan made our drive seem very short. Both so friendly, polite easy to talk to people. And even though we were late when we got to the Hotel we were greeted with warm smiles and lots of information. They were so understanding and we truly appreciated that. Then Huseyin gave us a tour of the GORGEOUS villa, set us up in our room, and suggested a really good restaurant for our dinner. Then in the morning we were treated to a WONDERFUL delicious traditional Turquish breakfast sitting on the Terrace overlooking the Kusadasi Port. The food was just amazing but really, Huseyin stole the show. He took service to another level!!! Congratulations to Okan and everyone at Villa Ephesus Hotel. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. I can't wait to come back and stay at one of your carefully designed unique rooms...so many details!!! There are a lot of steps but they help you with the luggage. My husband and I fell in love with this place. I recommend Villa Ephesus Hotel to anyone visiting Kusadasi, especially if you are cruising, it is located super close to...
Read moreI chose Villa Ephesus as a special treat for my wife and I at the end of a long tour of Turkiye, based on the photos of its ancient Roman themed buildings. We are budget travellers, and spent nearly 11 hours travelling from Istanbul to Kusadasi on a bus, arriving very tired and stiff. Unbeknown to us, our taxi driver had arranged for the hotel to send a boy to help with our luggage from the taxi stop. We were surprised, but grateful when confronted by the flights of steps from the street to the hotel. |You enter Villa Ephesus through double wooden gates in a hidden away lane. You enter a ancient Roman paradise of cobbled streets and stone houses and tranquility, for Kusadasi is not a quiet town, it is a tourist hotspot. If the initial entry is surprising, entering the reception space is a revelation. The views are spectacular, the decor and ambience totally beautiful, and the owners are just so pleasant and helpful.|All the staff speak very good English, our room was beautiful, the bed the best I slept in in Turkiye, and the rooftop terrace is a wonderful place to relax with a drink and conversation, while taking in the vistas of Kusadasi.|If all this was not enough, Okan, one of the owners, arrived at our room in the morning to help us with our luggage to the ferry and ensure we got our tickets.|Accommadation first class, service totally brilliant. Go there, stay longer than we did. You will love it....
