The hotel is located in the historical district of Denizli and is an 8-minute walk (700 meters) from Pamukkale Travertines. The proprietors, Tufan and Elif are extremely welcoming. The rooms are air-conditioned, have balconies, satellite flat-screen TV, a microwave, tea kettle and a fridge (kitchenware is available on request), and a private bathroom with shower and slippers. The fridge is stocked with some cold drinks (with prices which rival the supermarket across the street). The building is a four-story walk-up, so not for those who need accessibility. ||The hotel has free on-site parking, free Wi-Fi a rooftop terrace with mountain views, and a garden with a seating area. The hotel is fairly new and very clean. Of special note, the mattresses used here were more comfortable than any of the hotels we’ve stayed at since we left Istanbul (the pillows, however not so much). The breakfast was more than adequate, but less ornate than any of the others we have had so far. It did include an omelet, a couple of types of cheese, some home-made jam and a tomato sauce, chicken sausage, olives, bread and fruit, so the comment is simply because the “competition” has generally been even more ornate. Unexpectedly, our room was not serviced after the first of our two-day stay.||About 7:15AM, a parade of over 30 hot-air balloons passed over the Travertines (ala Cappadocia) and we watched from our room’s balcony, listening to the growls of their heaters and smelling whiffs of the burning fuel. The balloons lifted-off at 6:30 to catch the sun-rise. Later on, during the day, paragliders occasionally buzz the Travertines.||The ancient city of Hierapolis and the Travertines of Pamukkale are 700 meters from the hotel (as the crow flies. If you are not a bird, take a taxi or car to the top as it is quite a...

Read moreOne of the best stays we had in Turkey! We checked in around 9 PM and were warmly greeted by the hotel owner. He quickly and efficiently checked us in, helped carry our many bags, and personally showed us to our room. He gave us helpful local tips like catching the minibus to the travertines right outside the hotel and using the north gate entrance to walk down through the site (he even showed us a large map to explain!). He also let us know that restaurants were closing soon and directed us to a great nearby area just a 4 minute walk away. After a delicious meal, we returned to the hotel where the owner’s wife kindly offered us Turkish tea.
While enjoying our tea, we overheard the owner talking to another couple about hot air balloon rides. Ours had been cancelled three times in Cappadocia, so we asked him about it and he managed to secure a last-minute sunrise balloon booking for us at a fraction of the Cappadocia price! It turned out to be the highlight of our trip.
The room was spotless. Floors gleamed, the bed was cozy and warm, and the bathroom had excellent water pressure and hot water.
Breakfast the next morning was easily the best we had during our 3 week stay in Turkey: Fresh, soft bread Homemade jams The most delicious kaymak Fresh fruit & cheeses We were so full we skipped lunch that day!
The hotel’s location is perfect, with direct minibus access to both the train station and the travertines. The owner is always ready to help you catch the right one.
Be sure to also check out their beautiful rugs, part of their family business.
Genuine, caring staff. Impeccably clean rooms. Amazing food. Outstanding service. This place truly stands out. We can’t...
