El Nazar Stone Suite — Hotel in Uçhisar Beldesi

Positives: very friendly and helpful staff, Umit at reception made us feel at home always and offered us advice on what to do during our stay. He even offered to help book us some excursions, which he found for a good price. If you don't have time to research online and drive/phone around for deals, he can help you for sure! room was nice and spacious with A/C and basics provided. hotel is in Uchisar, close to all main attractions (if you're driving) but away from the hectic life of Göreme, while still having restaurants and shops etc. plenty of parking. breakfast made fresh when you wake up. jacuzzi (which we didn't use but tested and it works). balcony where we dried some of our clothes and shoes. amazing view of Uchisar castle and got air balloons from the breakfast terrace.

Negatives: bathroom could have been a little cleaner, water stains on shower, taps, glass etc, jacuzzi was a little yellow. towels smelt of cigarette smoke mixed with laundry?! breakfast is not buffet, made to order, which is fine, just so you know. mini fridge a little dirty and didn't work (although we used the main kitchen fridge instead a couple of times), TV also didn't seem to work, but we didn't need either of these two things so didn't ask for it to be resolved, so may have...

When we first arrived there was no one at the reception, and the door to the hotel was broken and very hard to open. The room was spacious, but very cold and air conditioning was not sufficient, we spent the whole night very cold. The bed and pillows were awful, very thin and uncomfortable. We woke up more tired than when we arrived. The TV only had Turkish channels, but the area is supposed to be tourist-friendly??? The shower was broken and when we turn on the shower head, the lights would blink. The drain in sink of the bathroom is also not working properly. The toilet paper is very thin and easily shredded. The towels smelled of cigarettes smoke. The breakfast was very weird. There was only one nice lady, doing the best she could with what was available. We left after only one night. I had a disappointing experience with the communication at this place. Many of the phone numbers provided went unanswered, and the QR code for the menu didn’t work.

During the day, the reception was often empty, but from 10 to 11 PM, the staff was loud and disruptive, making it impossible to rest for three nights in a row. We even had to take afternoon naps just to recover from the noise. If you're planning to enjoy sunrise views, hot air balloon rides, or early morning activities, this is not the ideal place to stay.
