My fiancé and I ate dinner at Centre Restaurant, and it was delightful!
Our waiter, Doruk, was one of the friendliest people we’ve encountered throughout our entire trip. We are still taking COVID precautions, and we requested to sit outside despite the rainy weather earlier in the day. Doruk was kind enough to dry and set a table just for us, and even offered us blankets if we became too cold. We have rarely encountered such kind and accommodating service.
The food at Centre Restaurant was outstanding, too! The pasta was delicious—fresh and perfectly al dente—and the ice cream, made in-house, is the among the best we’ve ever had. The food was prepared and delivered quickly, and the presentation was always lovely. We also found the prices—especially for the pasta—quite reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area.
We rarely write reviews, but felt that Centre Restaurant is especially deserving. We have had some trouble finding good places to eat while vacationing in Türkiye, as several restaurants in the tourist areas seem to pay for fake reviews, making online info unreliable. We hope this review will be helpful to others like ourselves: those who have had trouble sifting through reviews and finding a truly stellar restaurant in the Cappadocia region. Centre Restaurant really stands out for the graciousness of its staff and the quality and freshness...
Read moreIf I were Danish, tonight would be the perfect hygge evening. If you don’t know what hygge is, it means “creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people.”
As I walked the streets of Uçhisar, light snow fell on my overcoat. Not a single car passed me and many businesses were closed. I took photos and enjoyed walking through the gentle snow.
I found myself on Park Street, taking pictures, and saw the most charming building. No bright lights, just a beautiful family enjoying their evening.
I went in and immediately felt my entire body warm from the cold. I am not sure if it was their sizzling fire place or the warmth from their hearts, but I knew I was where I was meant to be.
For my evening meal, I enjoyed fried cheese, followed by lamb, accompanied by a glass of local red wine. While every bite was delicious, it was the magic of the atmosphere that I will always remember.
While I ate, beautiful aromas, a light fire, candlelight, and watching the snow fell allowed for the most perfect hygge ambiance in a small town in central Türkiye.
While I hope to return, it is a long trip for me. I hope anyone inspired to dine here has a similar...
Read moreThe atmosphere and the owner are super nice. We had a really enjoyable evening with the whole family. The story of this restaurants goes back to the father of the current owner, who was a cook in Club Med. For this reason the kitchen wants to be a bit international compared to other more local places. The choice is smart because it differentiates a bit this place from others and if you want a break from kebab and the kids feel like pasta it is a good option. The only thing is that you feel this type of kitchen it’s not in their bones. So overall very average except the more traditional dessert like baklava with dondurna wich was to die for (the best we had during our stay)!!! I suggest to add a more turkish section to the menu for those who want. Background music was international 80s which fits...
