This was my second choice hotel while in the Uchisar Area and it did not disappoint. My partner and I spent one night at this gem, and it delivered on its romantic vibes, minimalist and rustic chic, cave and stone interiors, and breathtaking views. If you're looking for a small, true boutique hotel (only 17. rooms) in the Uchisar area that is cave-like, but still modern and won't break the bank for a room with a pool,(the reason we booked here to begin with) check out my short, honest review.||CHECK-IN:|Upon arrival, by taxi, the hotel porters swooped in to rescue us from our heavy luggage, and check-in was a seamless breeze. Welcome drinks, consisting of orange juice or tea, arrived promptly and we were quickly led by the porters to our room (two chocolate chip cookies as another welcome treat in the room)||OUR SUITE: ||Our Pool Suite was absolute perfection. It looked just like on Instagram. The pool overlooking the Uchisar Castle, cafes, hotels, and the entire valley is simply stunning. ||Yes, the pool is heated, and warm enough, but could be just a tad bit warmer, but no qualms about it, My only teeny issue was that the pool wasn't sparkling clean upon arrival, as it should be because it is one of the biggest draws to this hotel, -----but no need to fret a quick call to the front desk, and voilà! It was spotless in no time. ||The mini bar was light and could have had more snack options, but they do have room service and a restaurant on the property so not really a big deal. We adored the plush robes, cozy fireplace, and prompt firewood delivery. The service and promptness of the staff were on point.||DINNER:||Besides our stunning room with a pool and view, dinner at Millocal restaurant was the highlight of our stay.... truly a culinary delight! I recommend the Turkish Ravioli. Chef's kiss! and the Cauliflower in olive oil and seasoning...(shareable) heavenly flavors. We savored every bite. The food here is worth the visit even if you decide not to stay at the hotel. ||We loved that Millstone provided a van/shuttle ride from Millstone to Millocal and that they were quick to drop us off and pick us up. The ride is 5-6 minutes. ||BREAKFAST:||Breakfast takes place at the hotel's other restaurant, Millstone, which is conveniently located on the property. You can expect fluffy bread to savory omelets, decadent honeycombs with whipped buttercream spread, fresh juices/tea, and more... everything is delicious and we just loved all the dining options the hotel provided.||THE PROPERTY:||The property boasts stunning terraces and seating areas but the main one that sits directly across the street is where sipped hot wine at 8 pm on a Friday, surrounded by a bonfire, and breathtaking views, cozy romantic vibes--- the perfect evening combo. ||We shared the space with fellow couples before dinner, but you could easily stay here and spend the evening soaking up the atmosphere. ||We woke up to hot air balloons over this same terrace and even headed to the one down below it for closer views. No matter where you're standing or sitting you will get a view of the hot air balloons. ||CHECK OUT :||One tiny suggestion: we wish check-out time was a bit later (11 am feels a tad early). I rather have a check-in time of 3 pm and a check-out time of 12pm. It just makes more sense while on holiday.||Huge thanks to the amazing staff at Millstone Cave Suites! You guys were great. From lugging our heavy luggage to making our stay...

Read moreI really wanted to like Millstone Cave Suites, but my experience left me with mixed feelings. Here’s the breakdown of the good and the bad:||The Good:|-The staff were quick to respond to emails and were helpful in arranging dinner reservations.|-Breakfast offered a nice variety of food and was a highlight, though it had limitations (more on that below).||The Bad:|Room Issues:|-Our room (1014) had a very small window with a limited, obstructed valley view, despite booking a room advertised with a proper valley view. We booked through our credit card travel portal, and that seemed an important detail for the attendant…perhaps travel portals limit your room options vs. booking directly.|-Being below another room, we could hear every sound from above, which was extremely disruptive.|-The shower did not have a door, so water went everywhere, making the bathroom inconvenient and messy to use.||Lack of Thoughtful Touches:|-Only two bottles of water were provided, and additional water had to be purchased, which seemed unreasonable since the tap water is undrinkable.|-No welcoming gestures at check-in—no seating, refreshments, or orientation.|-Breakfast, though good, starts at 8 a.m., which is inconvenient for early flights or tours.||Outdoor Spaces:|-The property only offers outdoor seating, and during bad weather, the room becomes the only option.|-Neighboring properties we visited had inviting outdoor spaces with cushions and fire pits, which Millstone lacked. This made their spaces much more comfortable and welcoming in chilly weather.|-Landscaping was poorly maintained, with dead plants and weed-filled beds throughout the property.||Service Shortcomings:|-The staff didn’t seem happy or motivated, and interactions felt indifferent.|-On the morning of our hot air balloon ride, the lobby attendant didn’t even acknowledge us. Offering coffee or tea for guests leaving so early would have been a nice touch.|-Staff frequently smoked in front of the lobby, which detracted from the atmosphere.||Overall Vibe:|-The property lacks a boutique feel. The unkempt landscaping, missing amenities, and lack of attention to detail made the experience feel underwhelming.||Final Thoughts:|Millstone Cave Suites has potential, but it’s missing the polish and thoughtful touches that make a stay memorable. The shower issue, lack of proper outdoor amenities, and indifferent service were significant drawbacks. While the breakfast and email communication were positives, the overall experience fell short of expectations. I hope they consider these areas for improvement, as it’s clear other properties nearby have set a much...
