I'll start by saying that the inside of the hotel is beautiful and the staff were lovely for the most part (Mohammed on the night shift was a dream). However our stay was less than ideal and put a damper on the end of our trip.
Our room was located on a terrace directly across from the restaurant. The room itself was small and old, the bedsheets did not fit, it had a door leading into an adjacent room (which the other occupant was incredibly loud in the first night), their were cobwebs, no hand towels/bath mat and the front door itself did not close fully. When we enquired about moving rooms, we were advised that the hotel was full, so we resigned ourselves to the room and made the best of it.
However, on our last night they set up the restaurant for some kind of conference/party and put out braziers with fire in them - directly in front of our room. With the door that did not seal. So our room became super smokey. In our clothes, our hair, etc.
When we complained they advised that they have a party "every Saturday night", that it will go until about 1200am, and that we should just open our door to air out the smoke...
When we advised that that wouldn't work (45 people were about to be directly outside our room, the braziers were still there etc) they finally offered to move our rooma but made it sound like we were inconveniencing them for it.
The room we were then given was beautiful, but as it was already 7pm, packing up our room was not how we imagined spending our last night.
We were disappointed with the lack of action and that no gesture was extended for the inconvenience...
