Golden Gate Inn — Hotel in Kyiv

We got a nice room 16 on the ground floor. Small, 22m2 plus kitchen and bathroom with shower. All in well maintained condition, like it was refurbished in the last 2 years. New airco, tv, wifi. Small but effective fridge.

I like the area, and the price/performance of this hotel exceeds expectations. They are modest, but nice. You want a clean, relatively new place, without all the gizmo's and amenities, and be comfortably in the middle of town, without all the costs, you'd be more than happy here!

Boxspring mattresses should however come with extra padded thin mattress on top of it. Half the world seems not to understand! Missing water faucet in Kitchen or microwave, I deduct half a star. Absoluut score: 3 stars. I score relative (per class) and would give 4.5, will now score 4.0....

Booked for 3 nights and upon arrival it was cancelled and hotel is full!!!

In details: payment is to be made on arrival as it was said when i made the booking a week ago. Had an email at 11:25 on the day of check-in saying my card was declined and I’m not sure why despite having fund. Following another email a modification on my booking starting from the day before! I have 3 hours to fix the card issue. However I’ve already arrived within 2.5 hours to the reception to check-in when they told us your entire booking was cancelled as all rooms are full!! I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. Leaving the room I've forgot a sweater there. 2 cleaners were coming to the room immediayely after my leave. It was impossible not to find my sweater left on the bed. I recalled the same day at the reception. They said that they haven't find it. It was simply stoled! When I called the manager of the hotel he said that I can call the Police about the fact and He can't anything to add. The moral of the stay: in this hotel your personal belognings can be stoledand the only answer from the management is :Call the Police. Unbelievable situation!
