I stayed here for 5 days in June 2018. The hotel had then been open some 9 months. ||I had a standard double room, which was on the small side, but had everything I needed as a bolt hole for my business trip, including desk and wifi. ||The reception staff are young, experienced, efficient, well chosen and bright, and speak very good English - not everyone in this city does. The room was comfortable and the wifi always good. ||There was good and quiet air-con. All the fittings were new and worked well. My room though had a safe that was not well bolted to the wall and this was not fixed during my stay. ||The staff were were very all very good and friendly and able to offer me some "office service" - printing, travel bookings etc - promptly and capably and "nothing is too much trouble". There were some other business travellers staying here. ||Podil is a residential district which is tree-lined and quiet. The same road as the Mackintosh has the Spanish Embassy, and nearby is the Chernobyl Museum. ||I was recommended an excellent restaurant on a barge on the Dnieper called Khutorets within walking distance. A must visit. Another must see is Pechersk Lavra.||Everything in Kiev is excellent value. ||The breakfast at the hotel has a choice of hot and cold food, served in the basement. ||As at June 2018 there were no facilities to eat at other times other than small bar snacks, and no room service. I expect this might be inconvenient in the middle of winter, when temperatures can be for a while less than -10C in the daytime. There is no gym, and it is difficult to get into a gym temporarily in Kiev at all (only a handful of major hotels in the entire city have a gym). ||For me, this hotel was outstanding value for money.||I would definitely stay...
Read moreThis is a small but new establishment. The single room is not for large Texans but very comfortable.Quiet location gives a well appreciated rest. The tv has one of the biggest selections I have ever seen and truly multicultural.Almost forgot why I was here.Short walk to Metro and a whole plethora of eateries that made going to the city centre unnecessary. There are a whole range of new and progressive little things that the management have introduced, something for you to discover for yourselfs. As to communication, some of the staff speak fluent English and others are keen to learn more.Stay long enough and you will get to meet the full rotation of staff as they have full one day rotations with days off between.Hatd to keep track of conversations sometimes but good to see that do many have an opertunity to gain experience and some employment in a very demanding business. The breakfast area is bright clean ,new and the layout of options is equal to all the big players in Kyiv,if not...
Read moreThe hotel is not in the heart of the city, it is about 15 minutes outside but in a nice area with lots going on, bars, restaurants etc. The rooms are not huge but they are all very clean, new furniture and clean. From the moment we arrived we were looked after by a young chap on reception, Dimitriy, who was absolutely marvellous, nothing was too much trouble for him. He made check-in simple and quick; he helped find my sunglasses ( they had fallen out of my pocket whilst in a taxi) and get them returned; he got us drinks from the bar if we needed them and even printed off our boarding passes for our return flights - great service and an asset...
