Dreams Beach Hostel — Hotel in Dubai

This place is pretty nice if you want to stay for about 7-10 days. It's an apartment turned into a hostel that is located on the 18th floor of Shams 2 building.

What was good: The location. There is no denying it, it's really great. The beach is five minutes away, the tram stop too and the DMCC metro station is about 10 minutes away. There are two supermarkets across the road and two right at the Shams complex. There are also many cafes, restaurants and fast food places around. I personally recommend Grill&Chill cafe which you can easily locate on the map. If you want to drink and party, there are plenty of bars on the beach. To buy alcohol go to African&Eastern in Dubai Marina Mall The beds and pillows were really comfortable, I slept very well The air-conditioner was not overpowering and we could control it ourselves There is a fully equipped kitchen, you can cook pretty much anything you want There is a big TV in the lounge area, where you can watch Netflix or Youtube The place is mostly quiet and the people are nice. The host tries to solve any conflict that may arise and doesn't accept disrespect and rudeness There is a washing machine but it's not free. I didn't do laundry so I don't know the price There were lockers in the room but only 4 for 6 people

What I didn't like: Of course we all have different standarts of cleanness and maybe mine are too high BUT. Those bathrooms need to be cleaned much more often. The floor in the bathroom was almost always wet and dirty. The mirror hadn't seen cleaning for a long time and nor had the shelves. The floor in our female room was swept probably once or twice during our 9 day stay and the rug there really needs vacuuming. The kitchen was more or less alright considering something was always going on there. Despite it all the lounge area was really nice and clean Maybe organise a better drying area for clothes? The rail on the balcony is always full of clothes, towels and swimming suits and everything is constantly damp Every single day we ate cheese sandwiches for breakfast. It's not a place with a buffet surely and they were fine but some diversion would have been great. If I had known, I would have rather cooked for myself and not paid for breakfast There were no shelves or nightstands or anything near the beds. Just one chair in the whole room. It was pretty challenging to find some space to keep some small, often used stuff. However, there is enough storage for clothes in the wardrobe. The beds had not been ready by the time we arrived, although I wrote three times about the time of our arrival which was well within the check-in time. Also, when a person checked out, their bed remained unmade with used sheets for a couple of days until the next person arrived. It's not a big deal probably but something I am not used to in a hostel no matter how cheap it is.

Generally, I'd give this place 7/10. Pretty good and welcoming for a beach holiday or a short stay, you get exactly what...

Come to this hostel without expectations and with an open heart. And then the most incredible joyful days can happen to you. Ideal, fantastic location close to the beach, shops, restaurants, clubs. Some people may be confused by cellophane under the sheet, but after spending 9 days in the hostel, I understand that this is the best option for hygiene. Bed linen is changed for each guest before check-in. Some come only for one night. There are small safes next to each bed for the most important things. Don't lose the key to it if you use it. For personal comfort, I strongly advise you to bring a sleep mask and earplugs. Everyone has their own daily routine, someone comes to the room later, someone earlier. The main thing is the people who make this service and comfort for you. The hostel owner will try to help you in any situation. I've been watching different things for 9 days, just believe me)) Mamun, his assistant, makes the most delicious omelets and also helps with everything you can ask for. And of course, the most inconspicuous, but such a hardworking Roblox, who cleans everything, cleans, washes and sometimes dances)) I was very lucky, the company at the hostel was first-class! Well, behind all the beaty of the high rate stars, beautiful(not really) pictures. Here is how thing are in reality:

1. No one answering by phone, and messages to what’s up, never answered. Although, booking was made throughout “hostelworld” site. That means chances to find that place approaching to zero, luckily some security guards aware about that place.
2. When you enter, host easily say: “we are overbooked, only space to sleep is on the floor.
3. in the morning 9:00 a.m. they disturbing and disrupt your sleep and wake you up.
4. Place are dirty, messy, shower isn’t working, water pressure is low.
5. No chance to call by intercom, they don’t have it, and don’t provide any key. You will be standing at the ground floor waiting people to come, to sneak over with them like you are some criminal or so.
6. People stealing things from a very dirty fridge, that’s the reason, it’s half empty all the time.
7. When you check out, Host requests extra money, explains that there is some tax or fee involved, although in reality when you booked it on “hostelworld” it’s clearly says: “taxes are included”.
8. Prices are extremely overvalued. For instance same messy “hostel” range all about 800-1200 dirhams monthly. They asking price is 3000 thousand AED - unacceptably high, you can rent a room somewhere in Al Barsha for that amount of money, monthly.
9. I urge anyone to check all in advanced, and make a check-list that mentioned above, before enter any hostel in JBR, clearly those type of people and nationalities is spread all over Dubai, bringing they “culture” to that...
