We recently stayed here for one night and everything and everyone was amazing upon arrival. The front desk girl is phenomenal. We decided to have dinner here after checking in and after waiting a bit for someone to take our order so I went up to the bar and asked the girl there if we could order food. She said okay and asked what we wanted but I didn’t have the menu with me and asked if she could come to our table to take our order. Clearly bothered from the 3 steps to get there she answered us very bluntly and quickly and looked soooooo bothered. So I said ‘You look bothered, is there an issue?’ She she no but that she was ‘taken aback’ when I asked her to help us. We struggled through our order with her and she left and went back behind the bar and started crying and then started talking about us right in front of us to the another staff member. I just can’t even believe this happened, it’s a customer service atrocity. My partner feeling bad went up to her to see if she was okay. This went on for a while and with everyone involved it made us so incredibly uncomfortable and ended up ruining our night. The strange thing is that no one really apologised, I’m not sure if she was just having a bad night or I wasn’t allowed to her ask to help us but after the hefty price of our stay and meal, the manager simply said he understood and offered us breakfast (which we already paid for). He said if another staff member hadn’t already went home early he would have sent her home. We still can’t believe this happened and left with such a bad feeling and bad impression. So my question is, what is the cost of a ruined night on our last day...

Visited here on the 21 June 2024. I gave 5 stars for service. The guy helping us was really attentive, trying to find us a booth. We were a party of 4. Ordered the dark black beer which was delicious. Saying we wanted to eat, one of the girls told us there was more seating upstairs, we went upstairs only to be told it was a private function. So, went downstairs again. Looking at the menu, wow, its complicated, now, bearing in mind i was the only English speaker in our party and had to translate everything on the menu. So, we decided that we would just have a couple of sharing dishes of chicken wings. Look at the menu for the chicken wings. Step 1 Choose size (3 options) Step 2 Choose flavour, ( 3 flavours)Step 3 Choose your wing,,,,crispy buttermilk, beer battered, cauliflower, temple of Seitan , Whattttt? what the hell is that? So, i've got to translate and explain all this to 3 people. This is getting to be hard work. Keep the menu simple for all your foreign customers. Anyway, the wings came after a 35 minute wait and to be honest, they were not good. We drank the excellent beer and went to the railway station for a butty. This is just a bit of honest feedback that you guys ask for. So, keep the menu simple and in plain English. The front of house guys do a good job. The beer is good but the chicken...

Needed a place where we could chill out with a nice beer out of the rain, and I've been wanting to come to this particular brewdog for ages.

Main bar area has either booths or tables, and the front of house team are the best, mixing a good knowledge of the beers with a friendly and welcoming demeanor. Large windows across the front make this a lovely light drinking spot during the day. I didn't get up to the terrace, which on paper sounds like it would be quite nice in summer.

We didn't try food, but what was being delivered to other patrons looked great, and importantly the beer range was spot on.

Basically, whatever you're doing on or near the royal mile will be improved with a visit to this place!

Now sadly, there is a negative, and it's a big one. In my usual coverage of suitability in a zombie apocalypse, I'm not convinced that this place fares well due to the big windows, which I fear would be very hard to barricade against the undead and even worse against raiders. That said, due to its slightly out of the way location, you may find its reserves of beer and snacks unmolested in the early days of survival so it may be worth a quick visit to keep you going while you set up your farms...

Review: BrewDog DogHouse Edinburgh – 4/5 stars We had a fantastic stay at BrewDog DogHouse in Edinburgh. The hotel strikes a perfect balance between fun, comfort and quality – a true paradise for beer lovers. The room was spacious, clean and well-designed, with great little touches like the in-room beer taps and even a shower beer fridge, which was as fun as it sounds. The breakfast included in the stay was excellent, and the restaurant food overall was great – ideal for fueling up before a day out in the city. Service was friendly, and the location couldn’t have been better – just a short walk from Waverley Station and the Royal Mile. The only real downside – and the reason this is a 4-star rather than a 5-star review – was the sofa bed, which unfortunately wasn’t comfortable - especially for two adults - and didn’t live up to the standard of the rest of the room. If you’re planning to share the room with more than two people, this is worth considering. That said, everything else was awesome. If the sofa bed were upgraded, this would easily be a five-star stay. We’d definitely come back – it’s a perfect base for a fun and memorable Edinburgh trip.

This place was great all the way through! We came for lunch but it was packed so we decided to come back for an early dinner instead. We were immediately greeted with a friendly welcome. The drinks are delicious. I got the hazy Jane ipa, and the hazy guava ipa. Both were very flavorful so I got a few cans to go. We also got a cider which was delicious. For dinner, we ordered the Buffalo cauliflower which was very tasty and the heritage tomato side salad, with the Chilli chicken salad with fries on the side. The cauliflower was very good, perfectly crispy with great flavor and a nice touch for a starter. Both salads were very well done with great flavor in the dressings and the chicken was well cooked. We loved it. In my pictures we had accidentally already started eating but all dishes were presented well. The server was very nice, my only thing was that maybe they could have been slightly more attentive towards the end, I had to go ask for the check. Other than that, we loved this place and will be back.

Most know BrewDog for their beers but I have learnt to deeply appreciate also their food. We went there on the morning of New Year's Day for a very early lunch. Because of that I didn't feel like ordering a beer but decided to focus instead purely on the food. I had seen pictures of the breakfast which looked majestic. Happy to confirm that it tastes as good as it looks!! The bacon was very tasty and sausages were quite interesting. The tomatoes juicy & ripe. The mushrooms were also very good and the beans had some special seasoning. Loved that the slice of bread that they included was not very large but was extremely tasty because dipped in butter before it got toasted. A funny initiative they have is that you can challenge the waiter at "rock, paper, scissor" to win a free dessert. We won one but unfortunately didn't have space left to eat also that! Next year, maybe 🙂
