Gardeners Cottage B and B — Hotel in Derbyshire Dales

This was just a great place. Bakewell is beautiful and these guys have an equally great place to stay. Elizabeth and her son Ivan are wonderful hosts that provide a great experience. They know Bakewell very well and can offer you ideas of where to go and what to do. And don’t get me started on the breakfast, wow! Loved the Cumberland sausage especially but the whole breakfast was delicious and filling. My wife got porridge as a starter and that pretty much filled her up. You will not leave this place hungry. The setting is lovely with a little garden out front and a nice patio that looks over the valley. Very beautiful. The only issue I have with this place is that I booked through Priceline and like other Priceline bookings I thought the financials would be covered through that. This isn’t the case. I found out a little late that you either had to pay cash or do a wire transfer to pay for the place. I hadn’t packed that much cash so I had to figure out an international wire transfer which added another $40 (from my bank) to my bill. The gardener's cottage b and b is in one word AMAZING my husband and myself stayed for a long weekend for our anniversary,The place is so beautiful and quiet,we were greeted by Ivan who was so lovely and warm and friendly ,He was very informative of Bakewell for places to visit and to dine,He took us to our room which was do lovely and very pretty, and spotless,The bed and pillows do comfortable and we had the best night sleep ever,our room (room1) looks out on to a lovely court yard,The garden area was beautiful and very well looked after ,you can take some time out to sit in the garden and have a little me time, The room had plenty of high quality tea and coffee for a refreshment and bottled water, The breakfast was very well organized and presented piping hot absolutely spot on, high quality produce,Lots of choices lovely relaxed atmosphere,Just such s lovely place to stay,You were made to feel at home, thank you Ivan and also to your parents for a wonderful way to spend our anniversary,lots of appreciation Julie and John Ryan from the good old...

The accommodation was comfortable and cosy. Room had a very comfortable bed and nice shower. Nice views from the breakfast and a good breakfast served. Accommodation likes you to wear slippers in rooms and areas for your stay. Clearly if you arrive and it is raining heavily the last thing you may consider is doing this as just want to get inside without getting slippers out. Overall nice accommodation close to Bakewell main areas. I would like to see a bigger TV in the room as the one we had was a bit dated and hare to see with not the best picture quality. Paying in cash or bank transfer is your only option which booking.com normally deal with. Overall a good stay all...
