WOW!! What a discusting experience I had today at this cafe. I ordered a scone and a cup of tea. I waited for 15 minutes and actually thought they had forgotten about me. Eventually the young girl came to my table and apologised for my wait and gave me a cup of tea but no scone. After waiting another 5 minutes she came and told me sorry we have no cream but I can go to the co op and get you some. All this time my tea is going cold as I wanted the scone with my tea . I then said it's OK love I will just take a refund.. She gave me a refund for the scone.I then said can I have a full refund as I don't want the tea which is now cold. The owner then stepped in very abruptly and told me to go away you've got your tea. I then said yes but you've have not provided what I asked for. I didn't want just the tea without the scone. She just kept telling me to go away. What sort of customer service is that. This place was lovely before these took over. Over priced and an owner with a terrible attitude. Just a warning if you are thinking of going. As I will never go in there again. There are plenty of nicer places to eat in bakewell where your custom will be...

Read moreHaving walked around Bakewell, we chanced upon a small shopping arcade that had small local businesses plying their trade. As we progressed through the arcade we came across the cafe. Though small I.e. 4 tables, its' staff exuded warmth and friendliness. The food was fairly priced and tasty, the coffee was better than anything you would get from the national coffee shops. The menu offered a range of all day breakfasts with vegetarian options. Also meals with the Derbyshire oatcake. To finish off there were a range of cakes. With being in Bakewell, we plumped for the Bakewell pudding ( only available in Bakewell) and the Bakewell tart. The former comes with a choice of custard, cream or ice cream. Definitely has...
