Called in for breakfast first thing with my dog, so had to sit outside. Lovely welcome, good coffee and then a tasty breakfast was brought out but then loads of wasps appeared. I spoke to a member of staff who told me they’d been having problems and there should’ve been traps out. They immediately offered to cook a fresh breakfast as the wasps had crawled over mine. I moved to another table but when the food came out the same thing happened. The staff were so kind and supportive and the manager let me sit just inside with my dog. The food was really good but unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it because of the situation with the wasps. The staff and the food were great and I’d definitely recommend it, but check on the insect situation first!

A very nice little cafe in a lovely little town. The cafe is set down a quite little lane, next to a bookshop. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, if you looking for fast food and service this is not the cafe for you. The food is well prepared and made fresh on the premises, the coffee is nice and strong it's very flavourful, the homemade curried potato soup is highly recommended, it was served with sourdough, the brilliant art work on the walls is also for sale.

After a stroll round Bakewell decided on The Gallery for lunch. Was busy afternoon but seated pretty quickly. Staff were pleasant, food was nice , Large Cafetiere was small only 2 small cups of coffee , we use large cafetières they hold 8 cups so not sure how they class theirs as large. Called The Gallery , was expecting a nice array of well positioned artwork on the walls , there we're some pictures dotted around. All in all was pleasant enough .. Thank you ..

LOVED every bit. Treated my grandma to lunch here and we both enjoyed every bit! I would also like to say, as I have seen that these lovely people received a one star review stating that staff were rude. Well I would just like to say as we were there at the same time that I can vouch that really wasn’t the case at all. In fact the customers were the ones that were being rude, swearing at staff, slamming the door and even making a point of leaving it open to cause a scene and trying to ruin the atmosphere for everyone else. I don’t see why people think that behaviour like that is ok and acceptable. But despite this the atmosphere was fab and like the professionals that they are, they all remained polite which is a testament to the team! So would highly recommend if you’re in bakewell. All the food is locally sourced and the cakes homemade! The Bakewell tart was amazing! Actually it was all just delicious! Keep up the...

We popped in to order 2 coffees to go and we had such a strange experience…

We had to wait for someone specific to even place an order, despite there being multiple staff members free & available. After ordering, we waited for 10-15 minutes before anyone actually started making the coffees. There were at least 3 staff members stood behind the counter area doing absolutely nothing, having a good old chat, whilst we were stood there waiting for anything to happen… it was all quite a strange experience and we would absolutely take our business elsewhere in future. They also charged us for the largest size without offering us any option (which ended up being £4...
