Kings Head Bridgend — Restaurant in Wales

The place is absolutely shocking! A bunch of young boys came after sitting at an empty table with my partner and told us to leave because it was their table! No reserved sign, nothing but empty seats like we're supposed to be some sort of mind reader and the land lady and security backing them up like they were right - yet we're in their seats?? This bunch of lads all stood up from the table behind where they were ACTUALLY sat, trying to intimidate myself and my partner but we stood our ground and said none of you were sitting here and i dont think the tables n chairs belong to you do they? The land lady kept saying please dont react like that, yet did nothing to correct the young boys showing off. Made to feel like we were out to cause trouble, when all we did was wander into a pub for the 1st time to sit down and have a drink n maybe sing a song on the kareoke. We are FAR from trouble makers, but refused to be dictated by a bunch of young lads throwing their weight around like they owned the place trying to tell us we couldnt sit at an empty table that not one of them were sat on only crowded behind it being egotistical. The landlady backed the wrong people! Likely due to the amount of money these boys spend at her bar. What a state of a pub! Went in there once n will never walk foot in there ever...

Tried to attend a retirement party in the early evening with my kids. Website says kids welcome until 9.30pm. Got thrown out like thugs, told the pub was violent and a fight could break out at any moment. Kept telling us kids weren't allowed as they weren't serving food, but refused to show us the premises licence. I was polite throughout, despite bouncers and manager being rude. No apologies, no compromise, just confrontation. Told us the kids could stay at their discretion, but they were turning us away as the pub was so violent. Not sure I believe them, but also not sure anyone would want to go there. Very disappointed. Missed the party and kids were left shell shocked. Ended up in a pub just round the corner who welcome kids and don't have to boast...

My friend Howard and I both had a club sandwich, salad & fries. What a meal, took half of the sandwich home as it was so big, should have known better as it was the second one I had lately. The chicken was nicely cooked the bacon was to die for. The salad had a great dressing on it. Even the fries were good. I comment on fries because most places use them to fill the plate, but they're inedible. But not this one, i loved them. The service and welcome are always without equal. It's the same young lady, who really does deserve a mention as she is an asset to this business. We keep...
