It could have been a good experience! Last week while on holiday, we visited Ripples Tearoom and sat outside in the designated seating area. We were served coffee and scones, but within minutes the heavens opened. We were the only ones sitting outside and so retreated to the cafe, cups and scones in hand but nowhere to lay them down or to sit because like minded folk also sheltering from the rain descended upon the cafe, bagging all available seats/tables prior to ordering. I pointed this out to the server who agreed that people without food should move, but she was not prepared to help. So, there we were, feeling like 'spare parts' in a small overcrowded area, still holding on to our coffee and scones which we eventually had to leave on the counter. Not impressed with the service/attitude/owner, rightly so we were...

We stopped by Ripples Tearoom & Gifts in Fort Augustus and absolutely loved it! It’s a cozy little gem right by the water, perfect for a relaxing break during your visit to Loch Ness.

The tea was excellent, served nice and hot, and just what we needed after a day of exploring. But the real star was the carrot cake — hands down one of the best we’ve ever had! Moist, flavorful, with just the right amount of spice and sweetness. You can tell it’s homemade with care.

The atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming, with a lovely selection of gifts and local products to browse while you enjoy your tea. The staff were friendly and made us feel right at home.

If you’re in Fort Augustus, don’t miss a visit to Ripples Tearoom — it’s the perfect spot for a peaceful break and a truly...

We arrived about ten minutes after the official opening time, but the café was not open yet, so we had to come back later, so opening times on google maps might not reflect the actual times.

The staff was polite in a professional way, but we didn’t feel really welcome. We had the impression that guests were expected to finish quickly and leave again rather than relax and enjoy their stay. This was made worse by the fact that the door was kept open the whole time, which made the café feel cold and not cozy at all.

The cakes and dairy-based desserts were beautifully presented, though for my taste a bit too sweet. The coffee, as in many places in Scotland, was not particularly good – I had hoped for something a...

Amazing little place that is sure to charm your every bit!! Staff are extremely kind, tea tastes great and the baked goods are delicious!! As well, there’s a very nice craft shop selling cute handmade souvenirs. Amazing view and really just a great place to sit down for a cuppa!
