Mowbray House — Hotel in Great Britain

Having stayed there last weekend for two nights, we thought ‘Mowbray House’ was great and excellent value for the money! From the friendly greeting by Carol, (the landlady), whose unassuming approach was refreshing, to the terrific full English breakfast cooked up for us each morning, and plenty of it. As another reviewer mentioned, there wasn’t a trace of grease on the breakfast either, which is a feat in itself. You have the choice also before the cooked breakfast of cereals, grapefruit, prunes, orange juice, toast and plenty of tea and coffee, again everything you associate with a good breakfast was offered there for you. ||||Our room itself was very clean and had every convenience you needed at hand, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, ironing board, hairdryer, tissues etc. The en-suite bathroom was no exception either with lashings of hot water and a great shower, all that you’ve come to expect in a room these days. ||||Location of the house is about 20-25 minutes away by foot from the centre of York and very straightforward getting there and back. There’s plenty of tourist leaflets in the reception hallway, and as Carol is a local, her knowledge of the area was beneficial too.||||We have no hesitation in recommending Mowbray House as a place to stay when in York and we’ll hopefully try and return there again towards the end...

Anthony b023 .Once again we have stayed in this Diamond of a Guest House. Room 2 with all home .comforts, Kettle,Coffee,tea ,Hot Chocolate and Biscuits. Ironing Board,Hairdryer,Electric Fan and Television. The room was spotless and comfortable. Carole as before is the friendliest of Hostesses,who will help you at all tjmes. Breakfast is second to none and really sets you up for the day. Private parking is a big bonus as parking and driving in York center is a nightmare. A short walk finds you in York centre and at the Minster. This Guest House and it's owners are complete Gems. We will be back. ...

This was our second stay at this special guesthouse .You are made to feel welcome the moment you step through the door and that welcome feeling lasts for the duration of your stay .Carol and her husband are really nice ,helpful hosts who really look after you .We stayed again in room no 2 with every thing you need,tea,coffee,hot chocolate and biscuits. Comfortable bed, with on suite toilet and shower, ironing board and iron and hairdryer. .Breakfast is just brilliant and really sets you up for the day Thank you Carol ,we will be back .
