I so wanted to give this an amazing review after seeing the amount of positive ones, but unfortunately I cannot. Service was great, waitress was lovely and food was served pretty rapidly. Food however was mostly mediocre. I will say the fish was very fresh, however the tempura inside some sushi wasn't crispy anymore, despite being served as it was made. Was crispy in the volcano sushi but not the salmon and tuna rolls - i'd say the tempura batter is very light and crispy but maybe doesn't hold its own within sushi itself sadly. Furthermore, for their signature volcano sushi I'd say it needed a bit more sauce and that the panko crumbs ontop didn't stay crispy and instead melded into the sauce making it sort of mushy, though the overall flavour was good. In general I feel like the rice on the sushi wasn't right - felt a bit softer than normal and sushi was practically falling apart rather than maintaining its shape. Portions weren't the most filling but were decent considering the price. I had the teriyaki salmon and this however was extremely good. Fish was perfectly cooked, mushrooms soaked up all the lovely flavour of the sauce and the dressing for the salad was tangy but savoury at the same time (sort of a balsamic, soy and sesame). Presentation of all dishes was amazing! I wouldn't say it was a bad experience nor bad food per se, just slightly dissapointing after seeing the near perfect reviews. Flavours were still spot on though and I would...
Read moreI decided to try this restaurant out for my birthday meal and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere was really nice, the dim lighting added a cosy atmosphere whilst the music was at the perfect volume, not too loud where you have to shout across the table to someone, or too quiet where you dont even realise theres any music playing. The food was incredible, definitely one of the best sushi places I’ve been too in bournemouth as all of the flavours really melted together and the rice was perfectly prepared- even the chips had their own Kazoku flare to them. However, the presentation was really the cherry on the top for me, you could tell they take pride in their food as each sushi dish was uniquely presented and their desserts were brought out on a beautiful decoration piece that made the whole experience magical. Overall the place is definitely worth visiting, the staff seem very nice as they welcome you in, catering to your every need before thanking you graciously as you leave. I would definitely come here again as its worth the price, it came up to around £103 for a family of five, but the service made it seem as if it could be way more expensive. I 100% recommend Kazoku for the sushi lovers in...

So glad we stumbled upon this restaurant while looking around places to eat in Bournemouth.
They have a wide range of foods to order in there menu and everything was very affordable.
We ordered... Porl Gyoza
Chiken Karaage(my partner just loves this, the taste is not like the other we have tried and it is very crunchy)
Takoyaki (one of the best gyoza I have ever tasted in the UK, the texture is just like what we have eaten in Osaka)
Tonkotsu Ramen( my daughter just loves it) the owner was really nice to offer us multiple times if we want a refill of the tonkotsu soup
Creamy Kazoku Roll
And we got a free food from the owner (Salt and Chili Pepper Squid) this one was definitely the best squid I've ever tasted. It is just so soft like it can almost melt in your mouth and the taste is amazing as well.
I forgot to mention, this shop is owned by a Filipino and he was just so nice! Were just so glad as to meet a fellow filipino.
The service of all the staffs is amazing, atmosphere is really great and ofcourse the food was awesome.
Will definitely go back here when we visit Bournemouth again.
