Needed somewhere to put our head down for 2 nights whilst visiting family. Check in was straightforward, and response to any questions was quick. Great location, 10-15 mins walk into city centre. ||Towels provided, and plenty of tea/coffee. ||Arranged parking permit, £5 per day. This is digital and allows you to park anywhere on the street. ||The place is dated but you get what you pay for. ||We stayed in room 1, and although the room was fine for us, the smell of damp hit you as you walked in, especially in the bathroom. ||The noise between rooms is clear as day. We could hear people upstairs walking around, going to bed, using the loo, closing doors etc so wasn’t exactly peaceful to sleep but appreciate that’s outside of the control of the b&b. But just a warning, you can hear everything. ||No breakfast provided either which is not something I’ve experience in a “B&B” before. Missing a trick there as it would’ve been ideal for us to load up on breakfast before heading out for the day. ||For what we paid it was fine, York is expensive in general so all...
Read moreThis hotel was a pit stop from a long journey. I was given room 1. I was aware it was not a room with a view. I only wanted an ensuite. I felt I paid a fair price. Tourism is taken advantage of in York by making parking very difficult. This is not the hotel's fault. So, if you are driving here, I suggest booking a parking permit from the hotel in advance. It was a double room with tea/coffee facilities. And they did not scrimp on the tea bags, etc. Extra supplies were in the foyer. It has a Wall-mounted TV, and the remote did not need new batteries. It was clean, aired, and the bathroom was spotless and had plenty of towels. The bed was comfortable and could just about contain my 6.2 height. I would be happy to stay here again. Why 4 stars and not 5? No one reads 5 stars. 4-star reviews tend not to be written by relatives. For those looking for an Ambience...

On arrival we were greeted by Natalie who took us to our second floor room. While not large it was more than big enough for the 2 of us. The room had nice décor and feel to it with a cosy comfy bed. The en-suite bathroom was very nice and we even had a proper shower (not one of those silly electric ones). We could even regulate the heating to make the room nice and warm.
The full English breakfast was fantastic and set you up for the day. The dining room was beautifully decorated giving it a nice cosy feel.
Natalie and her staff were all nice and friendly and couldn’t do enough, always having smiles on their faces.
We will definitely be back and would give it more than 5 stars.
