Miserable excuse for online ticket sales. Who knows how good the production was, I never got in the doors. I made the mistake of trying to buy two tickets, from the York Royal Theater online system. This mistake will never be repeated.

YRT companies efforts at informational fishing are irritating at best, certainly intrusive and frankly, obstructive.

Why do they need my address? I am not asking them to send me tickets.

Why do I need to sign up with their organization to buy tickets? Clearly they can simply sell me a ticket without intruding into my life. Not to mention that I am bombarded with a membership offer, BEFORE I have even concluded my purchase, the site "seeing"that I am allegedly a return patron, when I have never set foot in the town before.

Why after grilling me does YMTs ticket sale cause grief with accepting my credit card, while every other business from Tesco to the Yorkshire museum accept it without issue?

I strongly encourage YMT to reconsider how they see potential purchasers online. The woman sitting across from me has just asked, "why do they need that? I hate when they do that".

Of course, after wasting my time asking for information that is NOT NECESSARY for a sale, I note they have a countdown timer, to complete the sale.

I understand a £28 purchase is a VAST financial risk for YRT which apparently requires such extensive security.

An online ticket sale, is just that, a sale. Not an effort to turn customers into milk cows.

I just thought YMT ought to know how their online ticket sale made this visitor feel. Like a criminal and a resource to be milked.

I walked away without tickets to an event I wanted to attend, and YMT lost revenue. Imagine a streamlined sale WITHOUT FISHING for membership and marketing, as a public...

Gotta love YTR! We saw the Saturday matinee of Julius Caesar from the Globe on tour. Great to have the opportunity to see what they are up to without the schlep to London. It was my first visit to the venue in decades and full marks to the guy at the box office for explaining what to do with the tickets he helped me find on my phone! Lovely guy on the door too - really friendly. The show was fun. Excellent JC and probably the best friends romans etc speech I have ever seen (and there have been many 🤓). Hilarious and sinister. Shout out to Casca as well- an inspired performance of the bit where he tells us about Caesar refusing the crown but really creative throughout. Rest of company ok but a bit variable across the piece. Some great moments but folk playing multiple parts made the later acts a bit baffling at times. Intriguing and enlightened choice to play Brutus and Cassius as women (including pronouns most of the time) and my companion thought there might have been a lesbian live triangle implied between Brutus, Portia and Cassius. You can see the production gave us lots to talk about. Including the rather upbeat ending (not mentioned in the trigger warning illustrated) which sent us on our way...

Ronnie Scott's Allstars Arriving late at a show is always stressful. The staff inside on arrival were the friendliest I've encountered in a long while. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and even got my 80year old mother a glass of water as she had walked a fair way from the car park. They told us to take our time on the stairs (which was about three flights) and we were shown to our seats. I feel this is worth as much of a mention as the actual show was itself. We went to the Ronnie Scott's Allstars tour and it was amazing. If you are thinking of going book the tickets immediately you won't be disappointed. We only had the upper circle ones as that's all that was left when I saw the event on Facebook. The view was restricted of the projected images going on throughout the performance but we still had a lovely night. Just book the lower seating to avoid this on that particular show. Though you could see all of the stage and the band in full All in all a worth while visit to a beautiful theatre and iconic jazz band and stunning vocals. Bar was very...

We arrived early to have a quick Christmas drink, however the bar wasn't quite open or ready. The cafe and bar areas were ok, however feeling a little like it needed an update and bar staff who were organised and approachable. All of the cups, glasses were plastic. Once to our seats the auditorium was nice, our seats in a very good position. We sat row F, seats 1-3. The whole performance was gifted from start to end, with usual cheesey jokes, quips and great catchy songs. This performance had that little bit more, the whole cast just have something special and kept you captivated. From choosing a member of the audience to play bit parts in the panto, to children shouting boos and laughing totally out loud....the panto was a Christmas cracker and we would go back to see this cast again. Bravo 👏

My wife and I like to see murder mysteries the theatre put some very good one's on. The staff are always very polite and helpful. Example I had a operation week before and the chairs we had we're in the middle of the row it was better for me to sit on the end of the row one of the staff asked everyone if they would move two seats in so I could sit on the end chair and everyone did big thanks to all Trevor. Other than that the new cafe is very nice food not to expensive you can get life to the next two floors. The new seats are better i think that they are digger and a bit more room. This was a very good and had a good twist at the end 😯😯
