This is a great place to stay when exploring Torquay. A short walk from Meadfoot beach and Torquay Harbour this hotel is perfectly positioned for visiting the local area. The hotel is impeccably kept with a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly making every effort to ensure your stay is enjoyable. The room we were provided with had everything a weary traveller could ask for. A large room with a big comfortable bed was complimented by an enormous bathroom with no bath but a large floorprint shower and two basins. All the fittings, fixtures and decorations were of a high standard and included a small fridge, containing bottled water and a jug of milk for the tea / coffee making facilities, and a safe. A sofa, at the end of the bed, faced a good sized television providing a nice place to relax. Numerous sockets throughout the room ensured we were able to keep all of our tech charged. The hotel common areas provide plenty of comfortable seating in two separate, tasteful and elegantly decorated lounges. Books, boardgames and a well appointed bar provide entertainment while an outside decked area is available for smokers. The general atmosphere is both welcoming and relaxing and the staff are happy to help. The restaurant provides the setting for the excellent breakfast both continental and cooked. We booked for an evening meal and were impressed by the standard of both the service and food. Summary: A great place for adults to use as a base to explore the area. High standards throughout. Well appointed rooms with lots of little finishing touches that make a big difference. Friendly, helpful and available staff. Good drinks and food selections. Relaxing and welcoming. Heartedly recommend to anyone...
Read moreWe spent our anniversary here & have been long standing return guests for a number of years and have always thouroghly enjoyed our visits. This year was our first visit since the new restaurant & brassiere as opened and I must say it is a great improvement as after a long journey you may not want to venture down to Torquay . The restaurant food although I have really nothing to complain about was not outstanding ,average I would say & very slow but I do think that's down to it being newly opened its pricing is on par with a meal in Torquay . The second night we ate in the brassiere as I must say we had a gorgeous afternoon lunch at the meadfortbay cafe which I would highly recommend in the brassiere we had the club Sandwich which was fabulous 👍 and a much nicer feel sitting in the lounge area to eat . The breakfast are the best & must thank the breakfast chef & can highly recommend the American pancakes. The hotel.as had a refurb and looks stylish and comfortable and is situated in beautiful position about 20 minutes walk to Torquay I must say you have to be fairly fit to walk it ,& about 10 minutes when you turn right is the meadfoot bay beach which is stunning and as that fabulous cafe. We always stay in a suite which is stylish & lovely ,the only thing I will.say the terrace area which is wonderful is looking a bit tired . As you would expect from any 4 🌟 in the room you get coffee machine & bowl of fruit ,,& decanter of sherry #small one but nice touch . The parking can be a little tight and the drive suite steep so if you have just had hip or knee surgery I wouldn't recommend it for a while. On the whole we had a lovely stay there & big thanks to Vicki ,& Phil and...

Every additional care possible during Covid has been undertaken to make you and your fellow guests feel more than comfortable in every area of the hotel. A small complimentary decanter of sherry is on your dresser in the room along with gown, slippers, excellent quality towels and toiletries.
