If it was possible to leave a “zero star” review, I absolutely would. To start, when calling the hotel there is a greater chance of receiving their voicemail than an actual receptionist. They might as well add an S to their name because it’s more like a hostel than a hotel. The pictures on Google and Booking.com are NOTHING like the actual hotel. Walking in to the so-called hotel, the hallways are so small that only one person can fit through at a time. Although check-in was a breeze and the present receptionist was fine, it didn’t mask the dirt, grime, and disappointment of the Apollo Hotel. There were piles of dirty laundry at the end of the staircase - which we had to step over with 2 fifty pound suitcases in order to walk up the stairs to our room. Rolled towels were stuffed under windows as makeshift insulation. Walking into the room, I was SHOCKED with how small the room was. 3/4 of the room was the bed. I’m well traveled in Europe and understand that their hotels are not quite as spacious as American hotels but two adults with two luggage bags could barely fit in there. As we stood in the room questioning its size, we quickly saw very apparent stains on the bedding, pillows, and walls. The tea kettle was covered in a film with fingerprints and leftover liquids. Holes were present in the walls and doors. The mirror was rusted & dirty. There wasn’t even a full toilet paper roll in the bathroom. The floors weren’t vacuumed, furniture was dusty, and the bed was so lumpy you could see the lumps before ever sitting or laying on the bed. Even the remote to the TV was disgusting!! How can you not even do the simple cleaning like wiping down a noticeably dirty remote? When other guests or workers of the hotel walked around or shut the doors, the door to our room would rattle. The walls were so thin, you could here every conversation in the hotel, no matter what floor you were on. I wish I could attach the pictures I took of the hotel to send to Booking.com.
DO NOT BOOK WITH BOOKING.COM - Prior to leaving, my boyfriend and I called booking.com to talk to a representative about our experience (10 minutes after check-in, mind you) and hopefully request a refund. Although the room originally said “non-refundable”, we were ensured by a representative named Joanna that we would receive a full refund. To double check Joanna’s statement, we called back and spoke with a representative named Carl Keisten P, who also ensured us that we would get a full refund. During last couple of minutes of the phone call, I asked Carl Keisten P if we would “100% be receiving a refund”. because Carl and Joanna said that we would be receiving a refund, we decided to leave and find a different hotel. Later, we revived and email stating we would not be receiving a refund although TWO BOOKING.COM REPRESENTATIVES ensured that we would. After numerous calls, the hotel and booking.com only offered us and £80 refund although we paid over £200 for the room and did not stay for even an hour, let alone a single night. Mind you - prior to reaching a representative, a notification of recording is mentioned. If the other 3 or 4 representatives we spoke two over the two days would just go back and listed to the phone call recording from Carl Keisten P - they would hear him confirm a “100% refund”. but of course they didn’t and said the “looked at the notes” even though the notes are a one sided opinion of the representatives encounter rather than the two-way conversation. Sadly, we had to “settle” with the £80 pound refund from the Hotel / Booking.cow because that’s what the Apollo Hotel and “Booking.com Superior” decided on - although I have received no confirmation regarding the refund or the refund at all. PATHETIC!!!! We spent our two days in London on phone calls with booking.com and being lied to by their representatives. ID LIKE TO SEE A BOOKING.COM SUPERIOR EVEN WALK IN TO THE APOLLO HOTEL, LET...
Read moreThe room was small, but it was cozy. I was staying only one night so it was good for that. Seeing how a lot of hotels are very expensive in London this hotel did job for the price.
When I arrived around 11:30pm the front door to the “hotel” was locked and I have to ring a ring camera button. Someone showed up and let me into the building. I filled out a document with my name, USA address and contact number. The guy gave me A key ring with two keys on it. One key was for the front door of the hotel the other was for my room. The Neighborhood seemed pretty safe from talking to my Uber driver and others It has been confirmed that area is pretty safe.
My biggest issue was that the cold water not work at all, so when showering the water was scolding hot. Because it was very late, when I checked in, I had to get creative to shower. Also, the room was cold and because no one sits at the check-in window after 11:30pm I had to call a backup number that was listed at the checkin counter next to my room and they turned the heat on for me from the outside of the room somehow.
I stayed in room number 2 so it’s right next to the management office/check-in window. I was awaken the next morning by a couple of disgruntled guest arguing with the attendant on why they need to get a full refund, they were not happy with the accommodations at all.
The location is good close to bus, subways and other modes of transportation. But if you wanna stay closer to the main attractions, Like Buckingham Palace or House of Parliament, I would find an area closer to the river. With so much traffic a uber trip can easily take 30mins just to go 15 miles-20 miles.
Overall, if the cold water was working I would book there again especially for...

Had to drag 50lbs of luggage up to third floor up a winding staircase. Limited amenities, old rusty kettle to make coffee in the room. Housekeeping never changed the sheets the whole week we were there and did the minimum cleaning and refreshing of the room. Last day of my stay, we had no electricity in the room. Couldn't use any plugs or lights as nothing worked. Went to complain and ended up checking out still with no power. Paper thin walls. The night before we left, the couple next to us was having intercourse and it sounded like an x rated film. Summed up, very disappointing stay for the amount we payed. Would definitely not recommend. Don't stay here. Find a better option especially if you're staying longer that a day. The only good thing was it was close to the train station and there were some decent restaurants around. Otherwise it was a...
