Hotel in this area is well-known for how close it is to the main station and tube. I’ve been to quite a few hotel like this around the area for my stay in London and I would say this is one of the best one I had so far. I was put in the top floor (3rd floor), but lucky me as I didn’t have a lot to carry this time round. To give you a brief understanding, I have a mild allergy to dust so I would cough like crazy in an unclean space. However, Macdonald Hotel didn’t give me that experience. Certainly there is some mild dust on the shelf area but the carpet floor was really clean - even under the bed area was all tidy! I have previously experienced a hotel that does not clean the area under the bed which was filled with trashes - but not with Macdonald! The curtain is two layered with the thin and thick one, it looks pretty new to me as there is no stench of mold or any stain on it. As I stayed for two nights, I witness that the hotel does clean your room everyday - I felt really embarrassed as I left the room in a really messy state before I leave on the first day with some shirt tag and all on the room floor, but once I got back it was all cleared up. They were really nice to my stuff toy as well - after the bed was made my big stuff toy was put on the bed nicely to welcome my return 🥺✨ The hotel do take care of your luggages on the day of check-in and out (I haven’t try the out yet as I am writing this review in the impression that the room was tidy up after the long day out - but I read from their Q&A in the website I use to book the room) as well so it’s pretty convenient. Despite being quite aged, there is not stale smell of old building - they kept the toilet pretty clean and neutralize the smell with toilet perfume so it never smells bad. I cannot say much about the shower room as I didn’t use them during my stay as I don’t like sharing bath with others - I just use wipe to clean myself up after the long day instead. Oh! but the room do provide you with a sink of your own - and I’ll say this again but it’s pretty damn clean! I have the similar type of room at one of the other hotel around the area (but they didn’t have foldable table to put thing like this) and it was so dirty I wouldn’t go there ever again! Macdonald Hotel would definitely be one of my go-to the next time I come to visit London!

Though boasting clean and orderly accommodations, our stay at this hotel was somewhat marred by a prevailing musty scent. Prospective guests should be aware that both the rooms and shared washrooms, although depicted accurately in online pictures, are notably compact. Those residing on the ground floor may be disrupted by the constant rumbling from the Piccadilly line. Sensitivity to noise should be considered when selecting your room. In terms of staff interaction, we found them largely pleasant. However, a snappy encounter with the owner over an accidentally ajar fridge door was unsettling. While we apologize for the oversight, it's important to note that a more diplomatic approach would have preserved the comfort of our extended stay. Balancing these elements, it was a satisfactory experience, but one that could be improved with a little more guest consideration.

So obviously this is a budget hotel and is not the Ritz - don't expect plush furnishings and stylish rooms. However - in my opinion this hotel offers extraordinary value for money. The rooms are really clean, as are the shared showers and toilet. There's good water pressure in the showers and an abundance of hot water. Shower gel and shampoo is provided, as are towels. I believe you can ask for a hairdryer, although I didn't need to. The location is fantastic - a stone's throw from St Pancras station, which is really useful when you have to get up for an early train. The staff were all extremely helpful and welcoming. I was able to drop off my bags early and, after a problem with my room, I was offered a better room for my second night. Impeccable service.

The location is excellent – truly just 2 minutes from King’s Cross/St Pancras, making it ideal for exploring London or recovering quickly after a long train ride. The city centre is also walkable in about 30–40 minutes if you fancy a scenic urban stroll.||The room was small – about 8–9 square metres, with a comfortable single bed, kettle, and tea/coffee provided. Everything you need, nothing you don’t. Some noise from upstairs – the floorboards creaked like a Victorian thriller, but it wasn’t enough to keep me awake. The room was cleaned daily, which was appreciated.||Now, the only bit that didn’t sit quite right: I arrived at 2pm after a long journey, hoping to check in early. Reception said check-in is strictly at 3pm, so I sat in the foyer for an hour, growing slowly more horizontal. Then, at exactly 3pm, I asked again – and the receptionist simply grabbed the key from the hook right in front of him. The room was clearly ready the whole time, but policy is policy.||Look, I understand rules. But hospitality is about people, and if the room’s good to go, letting someone in a bit early would earn a lot of goodwill for very little effort.||All in all – great value, top-notch location, and a decent night’s sleep (provided the upstairs guests aren’t auditioning for Stomp). I’d stay again – but I’ll aim for fashionably late at...

As it was going to be a late night, I needed somewhere in- expensive to stay. This hotel was ideal for me as it was right opposite to Kings Cross Station and near Camden, where I work. Most hotels were going to cost up to four times this. This was a life saver ( as well as pocket saver). The room I had was small but had everything I needed. The toilet and shower was shared with two other rooms but this to me was no problem. I read the reviews from other people and really if you’re looking for a high end hotel with big rooms and luxury bathrooms don’t stay here. If travelling on a budget and you're a heavy sleeper, you’re going to be very satisfied with its location, price and value for money. The people working there were very accommodating and very friendly. I was amazed I got breakfast included. I definitely needed that, after the night before. It is true about the floor boards but if your looking not to pay high prices for rooms you should not leave a bad review for this place. I will say the bed was more comfortable than the one I sleep in everyday. The rooms were clean, sheets were fresh and hygiene and toilets were very clean but basic ( but hey, what do you expect?). I am happy to leave a well deserved five stars and to the staff, keep doing what your...
