I recently stayed here for two nights. The room was small but nice for the price, and was generally clean on arrival although the shower did have some marks and signs of wear. The location was great (about a 5 minute or less to paddington station) and staff were friendly and helpful.
My primary issue with this hotel was that I didn’t have hot water to shower either morning of my stay. I spoke with staff on the first day, who looked into the issue and told me it would be fine for the next day, but I still didn’t have hot water. The hotel has hot water- I showered quickly the first evening I arrived, but had to take rushed, cold showers on both of the other days, which was unpleasant and relatively upsetting in January. I asked if there was someone I could speak to about the issue when I checked out, and I was given an email. I haven’t received a reply or resolution yet.
Other than that, there weren’t any instructions on how to operate the heater, so I was freezing my first night since I came back to the hotel late and couldn’t figure out how to get it to work. While that was my error, I wish a small card was included as it would have made the night much more pleasant.
Obviously this hotel is a budget option, but I could’ve paid far less for a hostel and been more comfortable than I was here.
Edit: I did get a response from their customer service, who were very apologetic, offered me a partial refund, and said that they would investigate the issue so that it wouldn’t impact future guests. While it did take a little bit of time for someone to get back to me, they were prompt in issuing the refund, and I had a good experience with their customer...
Read moreI Stayed here because of it's proximity to Paddington station and it's price, £50 for one night in London is a bargain! The man at reception was very friendly, and asked me if i will need to store my bag when i check out the following day. I booked a standard room with window, so imagine my surprise when i was told by reception that my room was in LG09 in the Basement. I asked if i would have a window and the receptionist said yes. When i entered the room i was shocked to discovered a space smaller than the average garden shed! My "window" was nothing more than a glass pane looking out into........a storeroom! With an intensely bright light that the flimsy blind could in no way block out. I left the room in the afternoon to go and visit some friends and i thought they would turn off the light later on as i wouldn't be back to the hotel until gone midnight. Alas no, the light was still burning bright when i returned. I asked at reception if they could turn it off, and they said they would in 10 minutes, and 10 minutes later the light was indeed turned off. My "bathroom" was nothing more than a shower with a toilet glued in the corner and a sink stuffed in between. The Shower leaked all over my bedroom floor so i had to use my spare towel to mop it up. I paid for 24 hours television use but the remote control didn't work, nor did the other two replacements i got from reception didn't work either so i just gave up. When i checked out the next morning i opted to use the Baggage storage facility as it only cost £2. Very easy as i left from Heathrow later that night.
All in all very good value for money, i would recommend but not for more...
Read moreI expected very little, and somehow got even less. Normally I'm an "As long as it's clean, even a basic hotel room is fine", but the room wasn't clean and it was easily the worst place we've ever stayed
We literally got a small double bed, and the smallest "bathroom" you've ever seen. And that's literally it - not even so much as a tiny TV, clothes rail, or a shelf in the room to put something down on. I think a basic small TV is really the absolute minimum additional furniture that can be expected.
The room was dirty, the bathroom was even dirtier, we were given 2 pathetic pillows which were so thin that together they barely counted as 1. When asking for more we were given just 1 more the same, and ended up just buying some more pillows
There's almost no sound insulation between the rooms, so you can hear far too much of what's going on in the rooms next door or above. The window (which costs extra!) barely opens, the air conditioning/fan built into the wall didn't work at all. And the whole place, although cheaper than others, was still ridiculously priced for what you get.
The staff were pleasant, and the one thing this place has got going for it is a decent location near Paddington, but other than that it's by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in and easily the worst value, even for London. I'd avoid this place like the plague (and considering how dirty it was, I could almost mean that literally)
If I could give 0 stars I would, this place is...
