An extended family of 7 people we went to the pub as a reputable Greene King establishment. At first everything seemed normal though it took the best part of an hour for the food to arrive . After 45 minutes they advised they had no sausage for my Daughters Sausage and chips meal so we ordered Chicken nuggets and chips. The Flat Iron Medium Rare Steak was like pieces of leather and not pink so I returned it. It took 15 minutes for someone to come out and advise that there was no more Steak - on a Saturday afternoon??? I went to the bar ordered a cod Sandwich and house seasoned fries as a replacement along with a pint - this was 41p cheaper than the original meal but told them to keep it in the charity or tip jar. In the mean time my Step dad was tucking in to his fish and Chips but is still waiting for his Bread and butter side he paid for and my daughter is still waiting for her Chicken nuggets and Chips some 30 minutes after ordering this replacement meal. When my fries arrived some further 15 minutes later so did my daughters meal and my Step Dads Bread and butter (He had finished his meal) but even if he had not it was two slices of bread with two knobs of butter on the top slice???? My Daughter was no longer hungry and could not eat the nuggets, I had my "Seasoned" house fries which were simply plain but was still waiting for the Cod Fish Finger Sandwhich, after 10 minutes I ate the Fries so they did not go cold we asked for the manager to be told they are on a call and will be a while. Who do we ask for a refund - they went away. After nearly an hour we went to the till and I asked what was being done about the refund as I am still waiting for the rest of m y meal which to my astonishment the response was - we do not have a receipt for a Cod Fish Finger Sandwich so I reminded them about the saga called them out for the lies and requested a refund for the original meal which I was told they could not as the manager has to do that. The manager eventually graced us with his presence who's opening gambit was I hear you have been aggressive to my staff and had no interest in hearing what I had to say and only escalated the frustration and whole situation accused us of being scammers and referred to CCTV telling the truth - which indeed it will! There is only 1...

Read moreI had took an evening stroll in London after a day of conferences and noticed this place. The outside seating was full and figured I'd go inside, just to get a beer and maybe a meal. Little did I know that I was going to have the best meal I'd had all week in the upstairs dining area.
Seems when I got inside, a Football match was on (Soccer as we in the U.S. call it.) Place was hopping. So the bartender waved me up and gave me a beer after a min or two. I noticed a seat had opened up outside and I went out and sat down. As it was busy after awhile, I noticed two older ladies looking for seats. As I was at a two spot table, I got up and went inside to free it up for them.
When I went back inside, there were these stairs that went up and they drew me in. I could not believe that as active as it was downstairs with the match going on, it was quiet up there.
They sat me at a nice table with a view and.. well... it was amazing! Staff were polite and quick with getting my drink, then took my order. The food was cooked as I had asked... the flavor.. Excellent! The appetizer came out and the main course followed just as I finished most of it. I was impressed.
The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was top notch! Clean, comfortable and all was right. The day of meetings forgotten and I was relaxed.
If and when I'm back in town... and it had been a long time since the last. I will bring more of my crew to enjoy a great meal! Thank you all! Till next...
