The most Horrible, unhygienic and the most uninteresting staff ever! I checked in on Wednesday 23 april 2025 got room 224 a family room. Was unhygienic and clean. I complained about it. Checked out the Day after which was my schedele and checked in Friday 25 April 2025. Got a worser room than before: nummer 114 also a family room. Toe nail of another guest in the bathroom behind the door, dirty towels, hair of other guests in the room looks like someone cut his hair, dirt in a corner in the room behind the door, clogged sink due to this a really smelly bathroom whole night and toothpaste on the tiIes of which they say that it is not but comes from the White cement which is stupid. I complained about it after checkin friday evening to the evening personel and Saturday morning to the morning personel. I also showed them the pictures. The evening personel made a note. The morning personel (lady wearing a goldencross) did as if she didnot know anything. Just hearing me with no emotions, no solutions and when she was fed up she said 3 times that if I am not satisfied with there service I can check out but no refund. She was Just sitting not going check my room Just a robot. She didnot wanted to see my pictures. I just showed her anyway. Every other hotel would give a solution, would do on customersetvice and would clean immediately even the receptionist but this woman did nothing. I asked a complimentary breakfastdid not get that also. She was not authorized only management which is out in the weekend. The cleaners are out from 1400 hours so ahe can do nothing.|| She told me that I can sent an email to the hotel and maybe the Management will look at it in the weekend. She however didnot gave me the emailadress. I had to ask for it. Untill know I don't have any reaction. I pay 335 pound for 1 evening and this is how the hotel is treating there customers. ||||When I came back at the hotel the toenail was still there and I had still not sufficient towels. Also the cloggy sink was still there. Fortunately there was in after midday another receptionist Maliha who helped me a lot! She also whatsapped the management but until know management has not responded. Except from Maliha the personnel and management is very lazy and not customerservice minded. Maliha checked my room and came with solutions. Thank you Maliha. I can understand that the night personel has no tools but management can give tools / directions how to act and guve certainly tools and authority to morning receptionist. NOT...

As an asian/american from california, first time UK traveller, this walking/train commuting is all new to me. I did alot of researching and review reading to make sure that i would choose the right hotel for my taste.
I chose Athena:
first for the location. It is VERY close to paddington station, which is kinda the main hub going to london's outskirts, heathrow express and also close to the the tubes ( did i say that correctly ). Also ALOT of restaurants, convenient store and laundry place is very close as well.
Second reason is that most of the reviews i saw online was positive. My stay here felt like im their house guest. Room service is done everyday, fresh towels and very clean room. Breakfast is complimentary. My first day we went to durdle door and needed to bring snacks for the trip, the very nice lady from the kitchen let us borrow her lunchbox so we can bring the porridge while driving.. so sweet of her.
Third reason is that the staff are all amazing and very friendly.
Mario Jr, who helped us check in and settle our car parking ( we rented a car so we can just drive outside london for 3 days. Parking is $15 per day, book early coz its limited spots)
Mo from night shift was also nice, funny guy as well.
And for Meliha, she was very accomodating, friendly and helpful.
For the rooms, its cute, small but cozy. Typical bed and breakfast. Bathroom is medium size, shower has a rainfall shower head and handheld so you can use both. maybe the only thing i didnt like is that the shower glass is only half of the shower area, so put like a towel on the floor so you wont slip when you get out of the shower area.
They also have luggage storage which is very convenient if you're planning to go somewhere then come back.
Overall, my stay at Athena was amazing. I felt at home.
Thank you everyone and keep up...
Read moreAway Away Away from Athena London hotel located 110-114 Sussex Gardens, Tyburnia, London W2 1UA, United Kingdom Horrible experience, never ever recommend this place. This is not our first time to visit London and we always book our work/vacation packages from Expedia, we are aware that we made non refundable reservations assuming we are picking something good and high quality from Expedia. To get surprised that the room does not have A/C and they offering us to open the windows and have a fan although the windows does not even have the minimum safety from flies or ants due they don’t even have net or screen so basically I will be spleens on the street.and my infants can get bit during the night and that’s normal for them the only thing they kept telling us no refund as we did not advertise that we have A/C… A/C is essential does not need advertising I don’t care about your complementary breakfast if your service and not put to the market standards .
It’s essential like now it goes without saying you can advertise on offering breakfast, valet parking, spa, Wi-Fi these stuff is considered under advertisement option. Not A/C and fridge on the room that’s basics!! And offering me fan was not best situation for us since we have infant and toddler and can’t sleep with open window does not have net or screen for my kids safety . I am aware our reservation was unrefundable but out of guester or courtesy since we stayed only for 1 hour from the 7 days we are supposed to stay, offer us as part even from our money, deduct whatever penalty you feel it’s reasonable not just telling me we offered you a fan. Expedia told us they tried to reach out a lot and you guys denied all option although we mentioned we can’t stay for our kids Health conditions but I totally understand it’s all about business/ advertising for you not kids or...
