The schnitzel was lovely and this was agreed by all 3 of us.
However..... My friend is allergic to dairy (makes her poo horribly within minutes) and said this when ordering (just the allergic bit, not the poo).
She was served mayonnaise with her schnitzel and asked if it contained dairy.
The server said it did, apologised and took it away to return with a dairy free option.
My friend then received her broccoli (with parmesan).
She asked if the parmesan contained dairy. The server said it did and then apologised (again) and returned with some non-cheesed broccoli.
At the end of meal we had paid half the bill when we realised we had forgotten to ask about NHS discount as we are nurses (well 2 of us are).
They said they do NHS discount, but the sever went and asked a man with a beard (presumably the manager) if the discount could be applied on the remaining part of the bill to pay,.
The bearded man said no.
So no discount.
I wasn't going to write a review (despite the 2 instances of dairy being given to someone who clearly stated she is allergic to it).
But the lack of flexibility on the discount that they actually offer, has left a bitter taste in the mouth.
If my friend hadn't questioned whether dairy had been given to her, she could still be in the toilet now, but we let that slide. Just a shame that the manager didn't think that their mistakes (potentially poisoning my friend), were as important as our mistake (forgetting to state we were NHS at the start).
3*s. Nice food. Don't like the way we...
Read moreOne of the best schintzel places I’ve been to and very local to me next to Belsize Park Station. Only a short walk from Hampstead Heath station and served by buses C11 and 1.
There is a small menu, and schnitzel and schnitzel sandwiches (in challah rolls) which also includes kid options such as Pesto Pasta and Kids Schnitzel. The portions are VERY generous. For £17, two WHOLE pieces of schnitzel come, too much to eat and they will willingly give you at box to take away with you.
We also had their excellent homemade lemonade.
The schnitzel comes with three sauces: a unique beetroot ketchup, their homemade garlic mayo and another mildly spicy sauce. They have chicken schnitzel (which I had), veal schnitzel, beef schnitzel and aubergine schnitzel (vegan, gluten free and vegetarian and sauces corresponding to this).
If you have any allergies all intolerances they will be happy to adapt the meal for you, just tell them when you’re ordering.
Would highly recommend this place. It is quite small and quite popular so would recommend booking, but we just walked in hoping for the best and we were lucky!...

Best schnitzel I’ve had in the UK, and really really delicious bread. The portions are generous, the ingredients are top class, the staff is incredibly lovely and the ambiance is so welcoming.
I really recommend the aubergine schnitzel and obviously the classic chicken one. Also their fries come with freshly grated parmesan and lemon??? What a great idea, the lemon skin is so refreshing and it adds some freshness to the fries. And don’t skip out on ordering the charred broccoli as a side because it’s amazing. Plus, order the root salad!! And for desert the cheesecake
This restaurant is right by the exit of Belsize park station and it’s incredible. It was honestly so great that I’ll be going back to try more dishes, and they even have a deliveroo for when i’m tired or lazy.
Update: I came back with a group and we tried many more things, all of it...
