Came to stay just a night as I had a visa appointment at BLS Spain. It’s in an ideal location - under 10 mins to BLS, 25 min walk to Manchester Piccadilly Station. I liked staying here for numerous reasons. The building is modern, upon entering it had a very nice scent in the reception/lounge. The receptionist was friendly and accommodating when I asked for assistance. The lift was fast. The room I booked was a studio, so it had one bathroom, kitchen, living space, and a comfortable double bed. It was very spacious and clean. Kitchen was well equipped if you’re planning a longer stay. Had aircon which was a very nice touch. The bathroom was big and had a heated towel rail. Shower was okay although could do with clearing the drain, it was a bit slow draining. They provided shampoo & shower gel so you don’t need to get your own. However, if you need anything there’s a Sainsbury’s which is just a stones throw away. My stay included a breakfast as well which was served in an adjacent building. It wasn’t buffet style, rather an order at the table and they bring it to you. Ample options, you get to choose a main breakfast dish (like pancakes/eggs on toast) a continental breakfast (pastries/yogurt/fruits), and endless drinks (tea/coffee/juices). The food was alright and worth the price. I’ve read a few of the reviews complaining about the fact that breakfast is in a different building. But I personally didn’t mind it, it was probably only 50 steps away.. Would definitely recommend!

CitySuites is the definition of a luxurious aparthotel. It just ticks all the boxes when looking for a place to stay which is modern, well-designed, clean and cosy. Our room was very spacious and the bed was so comfortable we wanted to stay in all day! I'm also extremely pleased with the fantastic gym & pool area - you can definitely spend a whole day enjoying those, as well as the steam room and jacuzzi. Overall, we had an amazing stay and are already looking forward to visiting again soon.

Beautiful studio apartment very clean and modern. All the amenites you need for comfort. The pool was a bonus as was the sauna and gym. Dinner was fantastic, and citisuites was within close proximity to the town centre. It was a delight to stay here, and can't wait to come back.Embankment kitchen next door was lovely. Nice relaxed vibe and not too busy. Staff were so warm and welcoming. Cant fault it. Cant wait to come back. Thankyou!

Myself and my partner decided that we would go away for our special anniversary this year and chose the above venue as the reviews were good and the star rating high which is what one would expect for a special occasion such as this one was.||Upon checking in to the Hotel all seemed very pleasant and the front of house staff member was very welcoming, friendly and efficient we went up to our room no.909.||However after being in the room for roughly 3/4 hours a terrible and foul stench was being emitted from the bathroom drains I can only liken the aroma to that of a sewage plant.||We then went down to the front reception to inform the member of staff to hopefully resolve this matter considering it was putting a dampner on our special night.||The member of staff who we had informed was not only disinterested and lacked any kind of customer care or service but was unhelpful, rude and unsympathetic. He said he would go up to the room and check well as we were on our way out to eat seeing as we couldn't prepare food in the apartment due to the stomach churning smell being emitted it certainly was enough to make you not want to eat at all.|There was no update, no resolution and no alternative offered which in my opinion for a 5* establishment or any for that matter is an absolute disgrace.||Upon packing our belongings to leave the establishment the following morning we discovered under the cushions on the Sofa not only rotting food of some description but also a plastic snap bag which I can only presume was a bag containing an illicit and illegal substance we showed this to the front of house manager, she seemed helpful and sympathetic but offered no resolution or recompense for the filth in the room and the fact that there were drugs within easy reach between the sofa cushions! ||Not to mention that I'm sure things like this are supposed to be declared to the authorities and the lady in questions answer to disposing of it was I'll just throw it in the bin. ||It's now 02.11.2024 and still no contact has been made regarding any kind of action in reconciliation.||So to sum it up in a few words.....||Disappointing, unprofessional, appalling cleanliness, lack of empathy with a side of drugs!||Would I stay here again? Absolutely not! Never again and wouldn't trust staying here on a normal day let alone for a special occasion such as ours...

I'd strongly advise anyone staying in Manchester to avoid this hotel at all costs. ||We stayed here for one night during December and were awoken at 5am by a loud, high pitched alarm. We quickly discovered it was coming from some kind of vent in the wall underneath the TV. Despite the '24 hour reception' they advertise, we were unable to call them from the apartment phone, or our mobiles, so had to get dressed and go downstairs to reception. We told the staff member what had happened and he simply huffed as if to say "not again" and walked off into another room without saying a word.||By the time he returned another guest was stood at reception having experienced the same issue. The man on reception explained that the vents were there to control air quality and that these can go off if you don't have a window open or the air con on... needless to say in mid-December, we didn't do either of these things, and were not told at any point that we would need to do so to prevent an alarm going off.||Even when it transpired that the other guest next to us at reception was staying in the neighbouring room, and we questioned whether there could be a genuine problem like carbon monoxide, the man on reception still didn't seem bothered, and continued to blame us for not opening a window. He instead just gave us keys to new rooms to "go and rest until the morning" and only offered an apology through gritted teeth. ||A follow up email exchange with to Citysuites II's operations manager have further fuelled our anger and disappointment. While he has apologised, he simply offered to escalate the issue with their maintenance team, and promised to improve communication with guests at the check-in desk / provide staff members with extra training. None of that makes up for the experience we suffered, and when I suggested that we should be compensated for what happened, he offered 20% off our next stay... as if we would want to stay there again! ||If you want a decent night's sleep, which is surely the fundamental thing any hotel should be able to offer, do...

"Luxury", unsafe and dishonest.

CitySuites 2 in Manchester looks impressive at first, it has basic clean rooms and trendy facilities, but beneath the surface it fails where it matters most: safety, honesty, and guest care.

During my stay, due to an unexpected medical emergency we were forced us to leave by an ambulance. No customer gratitude was provided by receptionist as we were kicked out basically from the room as they did not offer an extended stay due to the circumstances. Staff promised our belongings would be safe and placed in a secure room to retrieve later on yet when we returned, my boyfriend's AirPods were gone including the case for it. After addressing this issue, Management’s response was to conduct a meaningless “investigation” into CCTV and HR records, then hide behind Terms and Conditions which only states lost property however we believe the staff definitely had taken part in this theft because the location is still known and nearby the hotel. There was no accountability and no concern for the welfare of our stuff or stay whatsoever. Do not bother coming here if you value safety and the security of your valuables.

Adding to this a long list of deceptions: Rooms were were hollow and definitely not sound proofed, Jammed doors in the pool area, broken and uncontrollable air conditioning, a TV barely hanging onto a wall and so frustrating to pull out and position with the basic standard tv setups no additional entertainment. The toiletries by "The White Company" that were provided were half-filled and broken bottles (THEY ONLY PROVIDE SHAMPOO AND HAND-WASH) and no towel changes despite being advertised for longer stays.

CitySuites 2 may look like luxury on the outside, but once you experience the lack of trust, care, and basic standards, the truth is clear. This is not luxury, the price is not worth it, and I strongly recommend you look elsewhere that provides better customer experience than what we had hoped for. Will not be...
