We were very impressed to receive an email stating we had been upgraded from the Ibis for our return for holiday stay. Unfortunately we left very unimpressed! We originally booked a twin room at Ibis. I do not feel that a queen, and a sofa bed, is an upgrade. Especially finding the sofa bed was very squeaky, made up with a poor fitting sheet, and then it collapsed shortly after retiring to bed. In addition to this there was a constant clicking from, we think, one of the lights by the window, even when switched off , and a very noisy air conditioning fan. We did switch this off, but then found the room very hot. Very little sleep had by either of us, and this stay was booked to ensure we were making the long drive back, after a long day travelling, fresh and alert. Figured a coffee might energise us a little, but then found that in order to fill the kettle we had to stretch around, the now wet, shower screen, as there was no way the kettle could be filled at the sink. For a hotel so close to the airport the sound insulation was very poor, to the point we could hear cars all night. We have stayed in Ibis hotels at several airports and never had any issues. The renovation of the Novotel is striking on arrival, but once leaving the lobby we found it very underwhelming, and certainly not a four star experience. Not impressed, and certainly would not use Novotel again.

Disappointing and Overpriced – Not Worth £215 We arrived at the Novotel Birmingham Airport Hotel at 1am after locking ourselves out of our home following a late flight. Needing a room for just six hours, we were shocked to be charged £215 — well above the typical rate of around £120. For that price, we expected a decent standard, but the room was basic at best and frankly quite unpleasant. The bed linen felt rough and cheap, the pillows were uncomfortable, and the bathroom was in such poor condition that we didn’t even want to use it. Carpets stained and dirty. The public bathrooms downstairs were also in a disgraceful state — dirty and clearly neglected. To make matters worse, breakfast wasn’t even included in the price. For £215, this was a complete shambles. It feels like guests are being taken advantage of, especially during late check-ins when options are limited. This hotel seriously needs investment and a rethink on value for money. Disappointed that this level of service and cleanliness is what’s considered acceptable.

Lovely hotel. Rooms are very comfy. Loved the air con in this heat wave. Kept us all cool all through the hotel. Love that you can fill up a glass water bottle in the hallway near your room. My kids loved doing that. Check in was quick and the staff were lovely. The bar area is nice and cosy. Lovely big seating area. We sat in the seating area for some pre drinks before dinner. The staff are very helpful and the bar service was excellent. There is a touchscreen game that my son and daughter had fun playing. My son loved the angry birds and the word game. Dinner service was excellent. Sophia was the perfect host, very lovely and helpful. Lovely service team. Food was tasty and lots of choice on the menu. Kids enjoyed their kids meal box and desserts too. We both enjoyed the curry.

I am doing this review not because I stayed here it's because of the friendly welcome I got I was staying at the ibis hotel next to this one at Birmingham Airport and the ibis could not say weather or not my food would have traces of nuts as I have a nut allergy to all nuts I went here for a meal and a few drinks. When I went I was greeted with a warm smile by a lady and after I spoke with her she adviced me that they could help me get food with my nut allergy she told me there is 15mins till there restaurant open so I went and had a drink at the bar and was welcomed by kal who was very help after telling him about my nut allergy he gave me a menu and a allergy form which I filled out kal went out of his way to go to the chef in the kitchen for advice and return a short time late with a warm and helpful reply that the chef had advice kal that he could do food and advice on what food would be best so I went with there advice and believe me it was a good choice I had roast lamb potatoes and veg which was cooked amazingly by the chef even my starter of bbq chicken wings with blue cheese dip was beautifully cooked and the dessert was mouth watering and very nice I like to thank kal, the chef, waiting staff, and all the staff at this hotel for amaing evening at there hotel I highly recommend this hotel to any one all the staff was very helpful and very welcoming as a disabled man this reinforced my faith in humanity God bless...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful establishment and it truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I checked in, the experience was top-notch. The room itself was excellent – spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully appointed with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was particularly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep after a long day. But the real highlight for me was the hotel bar. They boast an impressive selection of beers, and I was delighted to find they poured an absolutely perfect pint of Guinness – creamy, smooth, and just the right temperature. It's clear they take pride in their cellar and their pour. What truly elevated the bar experience, however, was Mukesh. He wasn't just a barman; he was a fantastic host. Incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making his guests feel welcome. He had great recommendations, was quick with a refill, and always had a smile. Mukesh is a real asset to the hotel and made my evenings there thoroughly enjoyable. Overall, I can't recommend this establishment highly enough. If you're looking for a comfortable stay with a great atmosphere, excellent drinks, and outstanding service (especially from Mukesh!), then look no further. I'll definitely be returning on my next trip...
