Absolutely abysmal. This is one of those places where you have to order by scanning a QR code. Here's what happened when I tried:
There's no reception in the airport, so I couldn't connect. Connected to the airport Wi-Fi and managed to get to the page for ordering The thing I wanted to order, which was on the paper menu, was not available on the online menu. This may have been because it was before 11am, but there is no indication of this on the menu Since I am now invested in the process, I find something I don't want and order it anyway I have to open my banking app to approve the payment. I do, but I just get taken back to the "proceed to payment" page. This happens a second time. By now, my bank account is showing two deductions, but the Wetherspoons website says I haven't ordered yet I call someone over to help. Of course they can't, and tell me to go to the bar. I am worried about leaving my bags and they tell me they'll watch them. At the bar, I am told the order has gone through once. Bartender suggests the second order may be pending and might revert automatically, but he can't guarantee it. I cancel the order and am refunded one amount. I get back to my table to find that, of course, no one is keeping and eye on my bags. I leave Wetherspoons after half an hour, not having eaten, and withless money in my account.
You use staff to bring the food out. Why not just have them take...
Read moreWe could not have been more pleased with the service to us provided by Zac. Whilst he was serving many customers at any one time, we really did feel that Zac was providing us with personal service. He could not have been more helpful. We were torn between having breakfast at Wetherspoons or Giraffe. We are so pleased we chose Wetherspoons. Zac made us feel special and nothing was too much trouble. I must have asked him for service on a number of different occasions and not once did he seem fazed by it all. He is calm and attentive. We seated ourselves next to his workstation as such, and we were so pleased we did. He seemed to manage looking after our needs as well as many other customers so efficiently. For example, when we asked for certain condiments, rather than point us in the right direction, he took it upon himself to ensure we remained seated whilst he tended to our requests, which he brought right to our table. Clearly a busy time of the day for the chain, Zac worked effortlessly and made it look so easy. We were already anxious about flying and starting our day, but with a lovely experience served by Zac, we set off on our journey in the best possible way. We would also like to thank Sophia. Sophia has a strong customer focus manner and again too was so helpful and lovely to...
Read moreJust another Spoons? Well maybe. The food and the drinks are a similar standard but the prices are inflated as expected due to its location in Departures of a major airport. As with any hospitality venue, the staff are what makes the real difference. I'm eventually getting with the times and rather than approach the bar, I used the Wetherspoons app, which is actually very easy to navigate. My issue with this in the past has been the waiting time to receive your order, Not on this occasion. We had a few drinks so were served by different staff members, all as pleasant as each other. However a special mention goes to Hadiqa (hope that's the correct spelling), my wife had gone for a little retail therapy and left me guarding the bags with instructions to get her a coffee. Hadiqa arrived with my beer and a cup for the coffee which is self service at the other side of the bar. Seeing my predicament, that I was on my own with bags to mind, she very kindly offered to get my wife's coffee for me. I attempted to tip her for her kindness and she refused this, stating with a great big smile, "I am only doing my job". I insisted that I would like to thank her with a couple of quid but she flatly refused. Absolute gem of a staff member and an absolute credit to...
