Characteristic colourful house, with perfect location and hosts
Simple but COLOURFUL HOUSE, part of the characteristic (delightful) Tobermory coloured houses landscape, right in front of the bay.
The LOCATION is absolutely PERFECT, whether for ferries or excursions; and if you like whisky, you will also find Tobermory Distillery right there.
Our room had EVERY POSSIBLE COMFORT (controllable ventilation in the bathroom included!), and our hosts have been among the best ones we had in Scotland: WELCOMING, EFFICIENT AND HELPFUL.
Just watch out at the night-stand corners, ask for the shower mode of operation (if you’re not used to that kind of system), and for the emergency green light in the bedroom to be obscured (if you have problems in sleeping with too much light, they immediately will solve the matter).
Cooked BREAKFAST was GOOD, whilst the buffet less attractive…
We definitely will be back there!
Meanwhile, we allow ourselves to give one improving suggestion: travellers need a bigger multi-plug adapter… at least 4 sockets (for cellphones and cameras). However, we appreciate the existence of this multi-plug adapter… we never found this attention in any other place we’ve been here… so...
Read morehave just returned from a 1 night stay at Carnaberg and I am not disappointed. I have been to mull a few times but have stopped in Salan or Kilninian so have not been used to be treat with such a central location.||||The location is perfect, couldn’t be better!||Parking could be an issue at busier times but I have to say we only had to wait 1 day and it was for about 5 minutes and every day we managed to get parked right outside after we’d been out all day.||||Linda checked us in, showed us around the room and offered to help in any way possible.||||The room was clean and well put together with a big bright bathroom (Room 5) No sea view but we were up and out so it wasn’t too much of a worry.||||Linda often asked if we needed anything for the room throughout our stay and we felt very much looked after.||||The breakfast was fresh and tasty each day and the views from the breakfast room set you up perfectly for the day.||||Only downsides are 1. The bed was quite hard for me and 2. The fact that I had to leave and couldn’t stay longer.||||Much loved...
Read moreWe were blessed with fantastic weather and the location is on the harbour road with great access to pubs and shops. Parking is hit and miss however free if you find the right spot. Our main issue was with the room and the advertised 5 star rating. The Scottish tourist board rated this a 4 star as did the AA so where does the 5 star come from because it is not. Breakfast is superb however we spent 3 nights in room 7 which is nothing more than a glorified cupboard. No bedside cabinet on one side, one chair in a double room, small double bed and the sloping ceiling would prevent anyone over 5 ft 7 standing up straight. The coat hangers for clothes are in the bathroom which means your clothes get damp everytime someone takes a shower. Noise from adjacent rooms on the second floor prevented my wife and I getting a good night's sleep. I do feel this room is not...
