I had read such great reviews and had high expectations from the food and being from Karachi I was looking forward for that Karachi taste.. we went there mainly to try brain masala and beef bihari boti. We ordered beef bihari boti, maghaz masala, lamb karhai, chips, and seekh kabab roll. Upon ordering we were told beef bihari boti was not available so we changed the order to chicken tikka (6pieces).. it said so on the menu. 6 pieces. Anyway while waiting for the order after sometime we saw that our order was delivered to some other family then when they complained it wasn't theirs so they picked it up and took it back into the kitchen and then brought it all back and put it on our table. SO because of this.. our karhai and brain masala and chicken tikka was not HOT.. it was just mildly warm. Only chips were hot..Then the chicken tikka 6 pieces was not 6 .. they were small boneless chicken pieces more than 6 while we were expecting some sort of bone pieces.. as for the taste. Chicken tikka was so so.. maghaz masala was ok, lamb charsi karhai was also Ok. Seekh kabab roll was also OK. By Ok i mean taste was lacking in every thing. There wasn't any ooomph factor as every other person claims in reviews .. might be difference of taste buds or service.. we have had better and amazing Karhais at other places.. anyway.. we had saved our appetite of whole day, drove from so far, on my birthday to experience all this.. By the way, they were also messing up take away orders as we observed while waiting for our order. and I wouldn't have written this order but why should I not write this if we're paying 60 pounds in this expensive day and age and still getting this sort of a food experience. Good thing is they have got parking at the back.. Quantity of food was good.. As for service only 2 people working on the outside to take orders and at the till and to deliver food hence all the chaos and confusion.. but if you're running a business then you should be alert n attentive and not clumsy.. people's money matter. Thay don't except card payments, the machine around the corner wasn't working.. and the other machine my husband went to draw cash only delivers 50 pounds max.. Place got refurbished and is clean except for the washrooms and the place looks extremely lit and bright in videos and insta because for the videos they probably lit up alllll the extra bulbs they've got but yesterday non of the bulbs were on.. only the basic lights and because of this.. the pink walls make the place dim.. so a down down for aesthetics lovers.. i would never comment on the walls and ambience if the food had been good.

So there are some positives of this place and will focus on it purely. Ambience: very personable, homely, courteous and sober. You don’t need fancy to have a good ambience which cud be seen here. 5/5 stars Menu: decent dishes and good mix of chicken, lamb and beef as well as bbq and rice. 5/5 Chicken karhai: good taste esp those who want to taste proper Karachi karhai from a UK perspective. Of course we won’t taste the same thing as “super highway for those who know what I mean” but still kudos for the effort and for bringing good authentic taste to the table. 5/5 Haleem: didn’t try so cannot comment on it. Looked and smelled okay though. Nihari: again we can’t expect to bring taste of Zahid or Javed nihari here but still very good effort and good meet selection too. Good colour and good tarka on it. 4.5/5 Naan: for those who come from Karachi - yes it was what we are used to seeing as tandoori roti or the safed doodh wali roti. For those who are from other regions their tandoori roti is what we call chapati (red atta roti). 5/5 Gajar halwa: couldn’t take pics but was delicious 4.5/5 Thanks to the owner (to avoid him being trolled or spammed, I am not mentioning his name) but bhai jan thanks a lot for such a good experience and for giving us a place to sit and cherish our Karachi days when we used to do proper bethek. What a good reminder this place brought. Nostalgic! Thanks again and will see you again.

We saw reviews of this place online and some pictures that looked very appealing. I am mainly just reviewing the breakfast they do as that is what we ordered. We normally go to Southall or Tooting for Halwa Puri breakfast, but this place showed up as closer to where we live, still almost a 35 minute drive though. So the location is not so appealing as the restaurant is off a claustrophobic road just off Slough High Street, which is horrid itself now. The staff were polite and responsive, we also asked for grilled option and were advised that grill chef turns up at his own leisure so won’t be available and this was at 2pm. The Halwa Puri breakfast we ordered was for two people, but the portions of the actual Channa, Halwa and potato I would say was just about enough for one. On top of that it came out cold and greasy. Menu said 2 Lacha Paratha or two nan. We ordered one of each. The Paratha seemed like ready made and certainly was not Lacha and the nan was quite thick and cold also. The best thing we got were the chips and they were not even part of the breakfast. Also teas were included but we did not get those straight away and had to ask for them. Again tasted below par, had been cooked to death. I would not recommend this place at all for breakfast Halwa Puri.

I waited two full days to ragain my composure before deciding to write this review of this pathetic restaurant. If I had decided immediately to pen down my unfortunate experience at this place, my choice of words and feedback would have been personal, ruthless, derogatory marred by bias and prejudice. But living two days after that fateful dinner, my nerves have calmed down to give unbiased, mild, cushioned and tapered opinion.

But I would still call a spade a spade.

Avoid this restaurant is I am going to begin with. The area has so many other culinary options that you won’t be missing much if you give it this place a miss. And I am sure people who run this place are not going to miss you.

Without naming the dishes we ordered, focusing on taste itself, cooking was tasteless. It’s not exaggeration when I say that food was not made in oil, it appeared as if hot oil was served with small chunks of food used as topping.

While my rant has been on the quality of food all along, the less I speak about hospitality the better. In fact the word hospitality is useless to reckon this restaurant with. I can safely say that this restaurant is epitome of how bad the hospitality can become. They can become role model of how not to be customer focused.

The prices are so crazy that it all made sense when I thought about with a peaceful mind. Their customers turn out is to small that all they can do is overprice and recover all their expenses and profit with gullible and unaware souls that wander into this place because of the catchy name and relating immediately to highly tasteful Pakistani cuisine. But I had better Pakistani food that this restaurant can never be able to churn out.

The last nail in the coffin is their demand to customers to pay in cash. Can understand a tenner in cash, but expecting customers to pay £35 in cash is ransom and definitely against the law when they don’t give receipts.

All in all, don’t go, avoid, avoid and avoid. The rest is god save the appetite that gets brutally killed with these bad places, not to mention so many broken relationships this restaurant can cause just...

Most horrible experience I have had in a very long time. I had a friend who came from Birmingham and had his flight from heathrow. I decided to take him to this restaurant. After a long wait to order and finish the food when it came to payment I asked for a receipt and I was told they ran out of till rolls therefore it can be emailed to you, I agreed. This guy named "Mohammed" came behind the counter with chains around his neck and rings on his fingers ( as if he owns half of Slough ghetto). When asked he said that usually the bank send you the transaction details. I said I want a receipt for my record. He said he can refuse for a card payment anytime he likes and can ask for cash payment instead. I said but you have the working card machine and just have to give me the receipt. He threw the cash machine on the side and said now you have to pay me in cash. I said why? He said because I want to. I was pretty disgusted with this guy's behaviour and attitude. I asked him if he is the owner, he said no. I asked if i can have his name, he refused firstly. Than said if you want to make a complaint my name is Mohammad. I asked if i can have the manager or the restaurant owner contact details, so i can bring this matter to his attention. He refused again and than I was given the details by another colleague of some giffgaff SIM mobile number which I have been trying to call since this event happened and no one has answered and its switched off. My concern if these guys don't know how to run the business and how to treat the customers than they shouldn't be in the business. I suggested to avoid this place at all cost. Firstly, they had limited menu, no staff on the counter, have to press the bell to call someone as they hiding behind in the back kitchen. And then this rude attitude as if he owns this place but instead spoiling someone's else business. Its appalling to be delt like this by the countryman where they have forgotten our culture...
