I recently had a stay at Travelodge during my 2-night business trip. On the morning of September 29th, I encountered a challenge securing a taxi to Oxford train station at 9am, a crucial time before my journey to Scotland. Despite a list of recommended taxi numbers, finding a ride seemed impossible, leaving me with only an hour and a half before my train departure. The staff at Travelodge demonstrated exceptional service during this stressful moment.
While grappling with the uncertainty of a stranger offering a lift (phoned my mobile after another driver passed on my number), a young gentleman at the reception displayed remarkable attentiveness and concern for my safety, ensuring my security by documenting the individual's contact information and car registration. This proactive and caring approach put my worries at ease, showcasing the staff member's dedication to guest well-being.
Although the situation with the taxi driver later revealed discrepancies and a push for cash payment, the actions of the Travelodge employee were truly commendable. His quick thinking and genuine care for my safety went beyond the call of duty. I am immensely grateful for his efforts and believe he is a testament to the values and ethics upheld by Travelodge. I have no doubt that he makes both the company and his family immensely proud.
I will undoubtedly remember this positive experience and exceptional service, making Travelodge my preferred choice for future travels. Please convey my sincere appreciation to this remarkable staff member for his outstanding caring nature and willingness to go above and beyond...
Read morewe booked to stay here for 2 reasons. 1 the travelodge allows dogs and we were travelling with one and 2 we were visiting Jeremy clarksons pub which drive time is about 5-10 minutes away. The travelodge is just off an island around the side of a Starbucks. You exit the travelodge from the back of the hotel into a side road. The checkin was very quick and the staff throughout our 2 night stay very helpful and pleasant. Our from on arrival our rookm was spacious and comfortable. The usual travelodge style room. Our two nights were quiet at night. Beds comfortable. Only 1 pillow each. I guess if needed you could ask for more. Initial tea coffee and milk in room but when you needed more you can collect from reception desk. The hotel is ideal for visiting Burford. If walking it is about ten minutes walk away. The only 2 downsides we found if visiting Burford - walking from the hotel. It is just off a busy island if trying to cross over the road also the walking down to Burford it is on an initial steep hill and walking back up would be difficult for someone with mobility issues. the town itself is quite flat in places. We did not notice any noise from the island/main road as we were at the back of the hotel. We would definately stay here again. The day we arrived was the last day of Cheltenham as we were told the hotel was full for the festival so if you are considering going to the races and staying...
Read moreJust completed a 4 night stay for hiking break. Room 3.
The rooms are tired and need a revamp. Great for a 2* hotel but definitely not 2* prices.
Would use again as in perfect location.
Update - bad parenting, not hotels fault. We had children running riot in the corridor until 10.30pm on one night (multiple complaints from other guests), which set off dogs staying in the hotel, plus we had a "heel walker" upstairs, so disappointing.

Rooms ** Furniture scuffed. Only 2 electric plugs in room to charge devices (one used for tv, other used for kettle). Room needs maintenance to fix a few small issues. No fridge. Tea and coffee provided with top ups available from reception. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Good shower. Great to have a bath for tired legs. Rooms do get a bit stuffy but there is a fan - we just opened the window. Get 30 mins free wifi a day, then £3 for 24hrs. Bit disappointing in this day and age. Plenty of parking. Starbucks opposite hotel for...
