I eaten here several times now after their opening, and I'd wager to say we have a new Mexican Restaurant Champion in Aberdeen.
I ordered the Burrito Grande and was wholly impressed. The perfect mixture of seasoned steak, chorizo, and more satiated my palate than any other Mexican restaurant in town. 5/5
The service was quick and prompt at the time I visited. Staff was attentive and we were seated almost immediately. The chips and salsa were brought out right away and a few moments later, a nice woman with a guacamole cart came by. While I am not a guacamole fan, I was impressed by watching the process of making FRESH guacamole right in front of the next table over.
The atmosphere was busy, but not too loud. I took one star off only because the TV's broadcasting a variety of YouTube sports channels were stuck at a "Are you still watching?" screen.
Overall, come in eat with confidence. I've also now ordered for takeout for lunch twice, and was impressed. The orders were both ready in less than 10 minutes and was waiting for me at the front door. Meals came with a small amount of chips and salsa, but could have included a slightly larger container of salsa. (I'm a...
Read moreJust got back from lunch there, opening day. Some places can have a bit of a rough opening while they get things working smoothly. Santo Tequila has hit the ground running! My wife is from Mexico originally and I’ve spent a few years in New Mexico (not quite the same as Mexican food but similar enough and relevant as I got to eat out at quite a few fancy places there). We moved to Aberdeen from Idaho where there are quite a few good restaurants and I’ve traveled a bit and had some very good food in other parts of the country. Aberdeen has had nothing to really compare with the top pics for Mexican food, until today… I used to drive an hour away when living in Idaho to get some of THE best shrimp tacos ever. I got the shrimp tacos today and I’ll be damned if they weren’t even better! My wife got the tacos Al pastor and was rather upset that they were better than the ones she makes. I value my life so I disagree with her there. 😉
The staff was very friendly and prompt, exactly what you want.
I am extremely excited to try the rest of the menu, I hope Santo Tequila continues to shine, Aberdeen is very lucky to get such quality food, or at...
Read moreI absolutely loved it. I almost cried of joy just from the flavor from all the dishes and salsas. This is hands-down the best Latin America cuisine in Aberdeen. The service? Excellent. Quick, courteous, kind, etc. The food? SO good! The salsa and the guacamole were super flavorful! Definitely would recommend. They make it right in front of you! Keep in mind, though, that they'll charge you for the guacamole (but it's worth it!). My wife had the deluxe fajitas (would definitely recommend), and I had the Santo Tequila Special (would also recommend). Also, the pollo chipotle has an excellent chipotle-queso-like sauce. It's really good! My compliments to the chefs in the back. To note: the chicken and steak are cooked well, but both my wife and I agree that the area they really excelled in was their shrimp. Be sure to try a shrimp dish! I don't think you can go wrong with it.
What I'm trying to say is this: If you haven't been here and like Latin Ameican cuisine, just give it a try. It is 100% worth it! I am so glad Aberdeen now has this place to offer...
