I am sorry to post this so late. Last Thanksgiving my Heating/AC unit stopped working. It was a colder than usual November here in Agoura last year. My son & I went to the Homewood Suites instead of Hampton Inn where he works because it was & is under construction & can be very noisy. Rudy at the front desk was extremely helpful with Jeff in booking the room. Rudy was very helpful to me when I requested some extra bathroom items & tea bags & general info on the hotel & what is around . Two other people were very helpful & I regret that I do not remember their names. The first was the nice lady at the front desk who was working alone. She brought me extra blankets after her shift ended. Also, the next day the breakfast lady was helpful as well. It was closing time & she patiently allowed me to get more food. Because I had just had a major surgery removing all of my teeth I was in pain & thought there was nothing I could eat. The scrambled eggs with salsa along with the biscuits & gravy have never tasted so good. I had water, hot cocoa & I took a yogurt & muffin back to my room. It was a treat. We stayed for a few days & went home a day too soon as the heater had a very bad odor when it first ran. It was still cold in the house & now smelled toxic. The smell cleared & now I am dealing with the huge increase I the cost of gas. Homewood Suites is lovely. I liked the room, the views, the HEATER that worked, the staff & walking distance to Trader Joe's. The pool looked beautiful but too cold to go in. The bed, floors & rooms appeared clean. It was nice to have a full refrigerator, table with chairs, plates, silverware & pans & microwave. I make hot tea day & night. The thing about being near the freeway with every hotel is the sound of the cars. That plus sleeping in hotel beds make it hard for me to sleep. One night young children were next to my bedroom & they were very loud so I could not sleep. Usually I'd sleep a few hours in the early morning hours. FYI because of water conservation you have to request clean bedding & towels & service. I do understand that COVID has changed everything in the hotel industry from day one. I am fine with that. I live close to this hotel & everyone here had to stop watering lawns, washing cars & doing laundry in the daytime when the temperatures rise. The summers used to be beautiful here & now they are unbearable.. Our drought is the worst I've see in 40 years. So, Of course I do not need my towels & bedding washed daily.I would recommend this hotel to anyone & I'd gladly...
Read more“"11pm,...blood-stained sheet,YUCH!!"” Greetings Homewood Suites, First,we checked into the Homewood Suites,Jan. 2017,on a very cool Thursday nite,10pm.Front desk cordial. We checked into our king sized room,#2109.I proceeded to turn on the heat(I set thermostat for 75 degrees),in the bedroom, the bedroom felt like 60 degrees. The "heat pump" immediately came on,however,no heat blowing from unit, just cool air.I patiently waited for the "heating filiament" to come on,to no avail. At 10 pm,I'm not about to "unwind" in cold sheets and a "frozen food locker!"I left the room, and down to the front desk, explaining the above.Front desk, understood, made note to heating/cooling crew, and gave us room #2107.I checked into room #2107,checked the heating,by turning thermostat to 75 degrees.Heating came on within seconds. We moved luggage from #2109 to #2107.We unpack luggage, brush teeth, prepare for bed,....the wife notices on her side of the bed,"blood stain spots on sheets,YUCH!"11 pm at nite,I'm not going to get dressed,go to front desk, get another room, return to 1) "3rd new room",2)check to see if heater is working,3)pull back bedspread, covers, and check sheets for cleanliness!I chose to remain in room,NOT call front desk and report(too tired)the NASTY sheet.I pulled off bedspread, covers,AND remove the "blood stained" sheet.I rotated the "blood stained" sheet to the foot of bed, replaced bed cover, and bedspread.Yuch!!I rose next morning around 730am,proceeded to grab a cup of coffee, and completel forgot to mention to front desk about the "blood stained" sheets.I had brain surgery 01/22/16,and have noticed I'm getting forgetful.I can barely remember what happened 10 minutes ago. Thank-You for sending out this survey, otherwise I completely forgot! P.S. I could have taken pictures from my smartphone, however, being tired, and wifi was not working in our room.Too many obstacles working against me at...
Read moreI spent 8 weeks here on business. A lot could go wrong in that time, but I have to say I was very impressed with everything. The staff is wonderfully accommodating, the grounds are beautiful, the location provided me with an amazing commute no matter which direction I was going, and the breakfast was as good as they come. Upon arrival the room was very clean. It was serviced every other day and upon request. I stayed in a one bedroom suite with a kitchen. It was great to have a refrigerator that can hold more than a 6-pack and to not be forced to eat out 100% of the time. There is an outdoor pool, exercise room, plenty of room to walk the grounds, and there are trails nearby. I have stayed in plenty of hotels of many brands. Actually, while staying here I had to book a room in other towns a couple of times. I couldn't wait to get back to this place. I had no problem parking near my room at any time. Some similar places get a lot of shady guests or traffic, which was not the case at all here. I was likely the shadiest character around! There's no bed like my own, but this was a great temporary home. Good enough that I just booked another 4 weeks.
Cons: There were a couple of maintenance issues during my stay which were addressed (In my opinion this is normal no matter where you go). The price is a bit higher than other places in the area (I think it is beyond worth the difference in food costs alone between breakfast and the kitchen). The laundry service is very pricey (I found a local wash and fold service at Lady face laundry on Kanan which was...
