After getting covid on a cruise ship, I had to abandon my original plans and go home. I needed to stay a night or two in a hotel before flying out, and I didn't feel well enough to check any place out before making reservations. I found this hotel to look nothing at all like any of the pictures that are shown at the beginning of the pictures on here. I mean, maybe the hotel looked like that in the 50s or something, but it certainly didn't look like that when I stayed there. The entire hotel looked outdated and dirty, my hotel room no exception. Honestly, I'm not sure why I thought this, but I was concerned that my bed might have bed bugs. . . that's how icky it was. I didn't check, as there wasn't really anything that I could do about it. My room was large and odd shaped, all of the furniture was very dated and not well kept, the hot water in the shower took a long time to get hot, the front desk people didn't appear to be very professional, and the curtains in the room left a large amount of light beaming throughout the room. There was a large column in the corner of the room that made it impossible to get to all of the windows, which meant that the curtain could not be pulled all the way shut and a lot of light shone into the room all night long. I also don't know how anyone cleans back there. I decided to walk around the area, and when I turned and walked to the left, everything I saw was quite nice. There was another hotel across the street which seemed nice, and behind that hotel was a little park with sea planes that were neat to look at. Walking a couple of miles down the road, I found another park like area with trails that were enjoyable to walk through, and the neighborhoods looked real nice. When I walked out of the parking lot to the right, however, things seemed a bit sketchier. I was even approached for money by some guy who had some sort of drug paraphernalia in his hands. I never felt scared, as I mostly stayed to my left, but just got the idea that the area that the hotel was in wasn't the greatest (and after reading these reviews, I can see that I was right). The only plus side to this hotel is that it is within close proximity to...
Read moreREAD BEFORE YOU BOOK. (Don’t book) My mom and i landed in Anchorage at 11:15AM on July 11th. our first hour arriving at the “hotel” was HELL. the lobby was musty, the elevators DON’T work, and the staff is very unprofessional. i don’t know how they are in business. HAIR in the MOCROWAVE, SHOWERS, and TOILET. speaking of the toilet, it didn’t flush. There was yellow puddles of dry pee under the seat, and on the floor too. At 6PM i was going to go refill my bottle with some water, and the machine was broken. I went back upstairs and just left it at that. AT 8PM I SAW BED BUGS MOVING IN MY BED. that’s when i called it quits. My mom and i spent a few hours looking for an alternate place to sleep, and an uber. At 11:50AM, July 11th 2022, my mom called the front desk and the front desk (Kayla) asks my mom “aRe yOu SuRe iT wAs A bEd BuG🤔🤨”….. at this point we weren’t surprised because we knew this hotel was a joke. At 12:45, July, 12th 2022, my mom and i went to the front desk and told them what happened. “Pax” who was the front desk at the time, was very helpful and polite. The other front desk person was silent. he knew why he was quiet. he had just got off the phone with my mom and had asked such a brains dead question. listening to him stuttering as my mom confronted him was the only good thing this hotel offered. if my math doesn’t fail me we have spent about 12 hours in this building. we were booked for 7 nights and we didn’t even last a night. I salute all of those who have spent a night here. i will now need to go to therapy to get professional counseling for the trauma i have gone through at this horrible establishment. i will also be micro-dosing on bedbugs just so i am immune incase i get locked in this hotel. I have also gone ahead and asked for a refund, so if you see the second review from me just know i didn’t get my 1.4k+...
Read moreOMG Bates Motel! I only chose this Hotel for location even after reading bad reviews. I thought it can’t be that bad for just a few hours stay. We arrived at the airport late, called the hotel for shuttle pickup was told 20 minutes. The shuttle finally arrived after 45 minutes. The hotel clerk told me the only room available was across the main Hotel on the 3rd floor that we have to take the stairs since the elevator is not working. I explained to her that my husband have disability he cannot climb the stairs with luggage too. She said she doesn’t have any rooms available straight face with no emotion! It’s already 12:00 midnight my husband said let’s just stay here. The gentleman behind the counter must have felt sorry for us and offered to help us carry the luggage to the room. He said the elevator has been out of order for 3 yrs and that he can’t believe the front desk assigned a room on the 3rd floor at the very end of the hall too. When we entered the room the smell of disinfectant made me sick, like someone has died in the room. The room was too dark, dark brown curtains, very dirty carpet, long hair sitting on the towel, door paint peeling, dirty coffee maker. In short I told my husband let’s get out of here. I have so many points on my credit card I could use with nearby 4 star hotels but it was raining that night so we decided to stay. We didn’t change our clothes, we’re afraid to open our luggage for bugs getting into our luggage. Used our jackets to cover the sheets and pillows before we lay down in bed. We’re up all night as we didn’t feel safe in the room! We checked out after a few hours and shuttled back to the airport to catch our bus to Whittier.
Recent reviews had the same story if not worse! So if you’re reading our horrible experiences do yourself a favor, do not stay here even...
