Food ok, prices too high ($25 for a smaller than expected portion of seafood salad) supposed to be an entree salad. Salad and 2 beers = 37.00 + tip. The most annoying and disappointing part of this experience was a 30 min wait before we even got a glass of water or menu served to us.(I know... it was definitely substandard service). We had to stand up and raise our hands to try to get servers attention and when ack owledged we were told that they were busy and short staffed and that we had to wait. Poor... POor...POOR... "excuse" especially when we Alaskans know that many tourists come there from their advertising of view of Lake Hood with a view of planes taking off and landing. In my opinion, the Millenium Hotel and Fancy Moose are not representing Alaska very well. I was disappointed except for the company of 2 lifelong friends reuniting after decades apart, sunny weather and a beautiful view. Those get 5 ; however Service, Pricing & Value of product delivered and time it took to deliver 1.
You appear to be understaffed and your staff is lacking basic training. Our servers mixed up on drink and food orders and forgot an appetizer altogether. (We made sure we weren't charged for it). The server placed every item with the wrong person in our small group who ordered it. Sounds like a management/training issue which should be a fairly easy fix...
Read moreAll four of us got food that was pretty disgusting. Denali dip was soggy when it came out and the meat was too tough to bite through, the penne pasta sat in a half an inch of olive oil or something wet at the bottom and we paid $14 extra for very dry, oddly flavored, inedible salmon, so $34 for a completely inedible meal. The seafood cobb salad was priced like it contained real seafood so we were disappointed to find imitation crab and bacon bits like the ones you buy at Walmart. The crab dip had no flavor at all and came with the cheapest bread. I wouldn't say it was bad, it was just like eating warm cream cheese with white bread. For $15, I would say to save your money.
Our server was okay, she wasn't very attentive and wasn't interested in providing a good experience (when none of us ate our food and didn't want to go boxes, she didn't ask anything), the tables were sticky, you seat yourself, but nothing indicates that at the front, so you just kinda stand around until someone comes to tell you to seat yourself.
I don't really have anything good to say about this place except that the view is nice. I would definitely save your money and go somewhere else because this was the worst dining experience for all 4 of us that I've had in years and it was super expensive, given the quality of the food, the service, and...
Read moreThis experience was a bit disappointing. I've always loved the location with its beautiful views of Lake Hood but this time the views couldn't make up for the lackluster decor and average menu. We started with the crab and artichoke dip which came out hot... too hot-and burned the roof of my mouth. We also ordered burgers and fries. I was a little put off that the waitress didn't ask how we like them cooked. She also didn't inform us of the specials, perhaps too busy to do so. Otherwise staff seemed positive and genuine. When the burgers came out the buns looked like they'd been played with by a child before ending up on my plate hugging a raw-in-the-middle, well-done patty that looked like it had fake grill marks. The patty was tasteless, the bacon was crisp but not freshly cooked, and the fries were inconsistent. If I were invited back with friends I'd still go for a beer but I'd make sure to eat dinner at home first. The place has aged poorly and feels more like a dive bar, unfortunately coming a little too slow out of the gate as more restaurants try to put covid behind them. Hopefully they can do better with more time. I'll be back to review again, just not...
