Another great ribbon cutting for the Highliner Hotel in Anchorage! They opened the Hightide Coffee inside the hotel AND they have a walk-up window serving Caffe D’arte coffee, and Main Event Breakfast Burritos- stop by and check it out! #alaskabusiness #fyp #alaskafoodie #breakfastclub #highlinerhotelanchorage #hightidecoffeeak #foryoupage #supportlocal #anchoragechamber

I don't usually write bad reviews but there are some serious issues with this hotel and honestly, I didn't feel safe. When I arrived to the hotel, there was a young man covered in tattoos outside pacing around outside asking everyone if they would let him in. He claimed to have a key that didn't work (the hotel uses codes, no keys). He also told me his phone was dead so he couldn't call customer service, even though I had just heard him listening to music on it. He gave me very bad vibes. I didn't let him in but eventually, another guest did and he disappeared upstairs. I spent the rest of my stay scared that there was some rando lurking around, especially as a solo female traveler. Luckily, there was a heavy piece of furniture that I could push against the door to my room. The gap in the door was large enough to let someone trip the safety latch. The biggest issue here is that there is no staff on site and they were very hard to reach. I had to text an overseas management firm who then contacted a local manager. To his credit, he did come by and check things out, but he told me he couldn't find anyone matching the guy's description. Finally, the room was super hot. There was a thermometer (not a thermostat) that read 80 degrees when I came in. When I opened the window, I realized it opened to a public hallway, not the outside. There were outside windows across the hall, so I opened them to get some fresh air and put a fan in the window. However, someone soon closed the exterior windows. I opened them again, and soon they were closed again. There is no climate control in the room at all, the only fresh air I could get was through the window to the hall, which made me nervous to keep open because of the rando walking about. They provide a little table fan that squirts water. There's also a ceiling fan but I couldn't get the remote to work. It never got below 78 degrees in my room, so it was very hard to sleep. Overall, highly disappointed. But, since I was making a reservation last minute, my options were either this place or pay twice as much, which was outside the gov't rate I'm allowed to spend. I would pay out of pocket next time for a better hotel.

For the price you definitely can stay at a more clean and professional hotel here in Anchorage. Here is the detailed reasons: 1. The room is extremely small with the only window leading to the corridor. Also there is no central air conditioner and there is only one exhaust fan in the bathroom so the air does not circulate. 2. There is hair on the small night stand. The power strip near the edge of the pillow and the base of the table lamp are also covered with dust. 3. We found out the hair dryer is not working at 10:30pm and was told there's no one helping until 8am tomorrow. So don't expect any timely maintenance here even though you paid for an actual hotel price. I stayed at four different hotel during this trip. This one is the most expensive and also worst.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel! From the moment I walked in, I felt relaxed and welcomed.

The beds were incredibly comfortable — truly some of the best I’ve ever slept on in a hotel, so rare to find!!!! Made every penny worth it, by itself. After long days of traveling and exploring, sinking into that bed felt like heaven!!!! The attention to cleanliness also gave me so much peace of mind😌

One of my favorite parts was the Alaskan artwork displayed throughout the hotel. It added such a warm, authentic charm and really made the space feel unique and connected to the local culture.

There’s also a delightful little café on-site that served delicious treats and great coffee — the perfect way to start the day or unwind in the afternoon.

All in all, it was a peaceful, beautiful place to stay, and I would absolutely come back. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Alaska who wants comfort, local flavor, and a...

Pros: Service is fantastic. Responsive through text and eager to please at the front desk. You are checked before arrival and given a passcode for the main door and your room. Very smooth. I was given a free upgrade to a better room for my weeklong stay. The rooms offer free coffee in your room. The beds are heavenly. So comfortable. The location is easy walking distance to downtown and walking trails.

Cons: while the room was clean, the carpet has some gnarly stains. The walls are thin enough to hear people talking at a normal level. NOTE: Rooms labeled with no view mean there is no window to outside. You will have a window into the hallway.

Is this place the Hilton. Nope. Would I stay here again. Easily. For the price it was great and I would much rather give my money to a...
