I had a very frustrating and disappointing experience trying to book the wellness treatment for two recently. To be fair, everyone I talked to was polite and I had no issues there, but the number of phone calls I had to make and the extremely poor communication between employees resulted in a week of back and forth phone calls and confusion and ultimately being unable to book the appointment at all. I called trying to book the appointment for a friend and I and requested the latest possible availability in the day on a Friday because we would both have to leave work early. I was told that they could do it on a Tuesday or Wednesday. I let them know I would need to check with my friend and my job and would call them back ASAP. I texted my boss and my friend and got the ok, and called back literally 10 minutes later only to be told that someone had booked an appointment during those times and it wasnât available anymore. I asked to be out on a waitlist in case of cancellations. Later that day I got a call from someone else saying they could do it the following Friday at 5. I was stoked and said yes please hold that time, and because it was on a Friday evening that we spoke, my friend would have to wait til Monday to check with her work and I would call back ASAP Monday to confirm. I called Monday to confirm and spoke to a different person who said they would have to check and would call me back. Didnât hear anything else Monday. I called back Tuesday and left a message. Didnât hear anything. I called back Wednesday and got a hold of someone just to be told that they had booked someone else during that time and it wasnât available anymore because the hold hadnât been placed on the schedule. I had been looking forward to this treatment so much because my job has been extra stressful and there was a death in my family recently. I left this experience even more stressed than I had been in the first place. I wish I had just been told in the first place that we couldnât book it instead of repeatedly getting our hopes up and offering us spots that they didnât...

*edited to give stats, I came back today at the ownerâs invitation, everything was really great. There were enough pillows, the pressure was great, the music was great, the owner was very intentional. Definitely earned back my business.
*edited and added a star because the owner reached out with a gracious and understanding response!
Bummed! I had been a regular here when I lived here a few years ago. Now Iâm back and live on Eagle River, so I donât come down as often esp because itâs a little on the pricey side, but I decided to finally splurge and get a 50 massage and find childcare to come down and have a relaxing experience. I requested booking online and confirmed through email, but when I showed up to the location they informed me I was actually across the way and in the hotel. There was nothing in my messages or in the call that morning which indicated that, but overall not a big deal. I was mostly bummed because the massage itself and the ambiance was decidedly mediocre. I felt like the massage therapist was sort of haphazardly deciding where to press, and was rushed and overall just .. not very relaxing. The music was also pretty loud- when I came in I asked if there was a way to maybe turn it down and she said she tried but couldnât. So I felt like I was being prodded while also listening to Disney instrumental covers blast. (I recognized the songs as âYouâll be in my heartâ from Tarzan and âReflectionâ from Mulan.) It wasnât the worst massage Iâve ever had, but definitely the worst massage for the price that Iâve ever had, which is a bummer because in my mind, Adagio was like THE place to go to in Alaska.
Iâd give them another shot probably, but just not go to the hotel and hopefully book...
Read moreIts no longer owned by the russian lady so its a completely different experience. I didn't know they changed management. It's too small for the extra services they give now and there's not enough room for all of the customers and the service providers. It's really cramped. You can hear people talking while you're trying to relax and the providers bang things around in the room when you get the facial. When you get the facial they don't ask you what you're trying to do with your skin what you need help with regarding your skin they don't recommend anything they don't look at your skin under the light they don't do extractions I got the facial and it was very nice but I'm not sure what kind of facial you can get without getting extractions or getting recommended anything to keep you up your skin. I can do what they did at home- putting on different masks scrubs and serums. I can do that myself. Its been some years since I last came but with how it is now I will do my own spa things at home or go out of state. The russian style hot stone massage was the best massage i ever got when it was owbed by the other people but now its not the same at all. I heard this was as good as it gets for alaska so i guess if you have nowhere else to go you can tolerate this. But don't expect to really relax. The doors creak and slam and make noise. The walls are thin. Theres no lounge to sit and wait in between treatments. You keep bumping into everyone. They just pack everyone in like a chop shop. It ruins the experience by making it like a sweat shop packing as many people in for the dollar. If they spread out people you could feel like you were special instead of like they are trying to meet a quota...
