Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center — Attraction in Alaska

I was invited to the Hobo Jim Tribute Concert. My boss called me a few days before. He was a friend of mine. He was a friend to all. The concert was great. Ken Peltier was awesome as always. On a scale of 1 to 10 it was an eleven. The food was amazing as well. Happy Birthday Hobo Jim! 🎂 He was an Alaskan Icon that we will always remember. Each one of us that knew Jim will always carry a piece of his spirit with them. His last trip to the Lodge was a memorable one. God Bless you Jim Varsos! Excellent building for an event or convention.

The Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center (Dena'ina Center) is located in the Downtown Anchorage, so you'll most likely need to park in a garage. There are many restaurants in the area, so get a bite to eat and cheap drink then head inside.

If the event or convention is on the first floor remember restrooms are also on the second floor if you can get to them. The views from outside are amazing and you should try to go all the way up to the top floor to view the Downtown area.

The worst experience. We had a military ball held here and it was nothing short of pathetic. The staff was very very rude, the food was cold and poorly put together. Seemed like they threw some cold carrots on a plate and called it a meal. Wouldn’t let us leave to go downstairs or we couldn’t get back in, so they gave us an uncovered patio outside and didn’t even offer umbrella tables.
