This is the most priciest hotel room I have stayed in sans the services of a decent motel room. I have stayed in a couple of them to know when they are conning us (480$ a night). I am surprised as to how they have reviews above 4 stars. Let me recount my whole experience of one night stay here 1.Starting with the lobby The staff is thoroughly corporate and adeqaute without any warmth to them. We asked for early check-in and the hostess mentioned that they don't usually do it. She then proceeded us to put our names down in line for early check-in only to forget it until we reminded them an hour later. 2. Location of the lodge That's probably the only saving grace if you expect it to be a bit away from the city but nothing to rave about as it's by the side of the road and not picturesque enough to rave about. 3. The rooms are the worst I have ever seen for such a pricey hotel. The furniture is dated, carpets are dirty and ancient. The bathroom fixtures are cheap and the body wash, shampoo etc aren't great for a hotel charging that price. There was a sink in our room and the outline of the room was so weird. There was a sofa cum bed in front of the sink and there's a partition in the room beside the sofa separating the beds and the sofa which is weird and annoying. 4. The tv was a cable tv and it's been a while since I have used one. They are charging 500$ a night and don't even have a smart TV, there were two TVs and both would switch on at the same time with the same remote. It's hilarious 😂 and I have never experienced that ever. 5. I have heard the reviews of the restaurant being bad so I didn't even try. Everything in the room had a cheapness to it that is tough to beat with even the worst of the motels.

The Seward Windsong Lodge was very comfortable and modern. You will see you in one of my photos that the television is the old cathode-ray style too. That photo was taken in 2000 and 8, so you have to expect that they have upgraded all of their television since then. It's a modern facility that has a cabin or Lodge style Motif. The surroundings are quiet and you're in a wooded secluded area that gives you the feeling that you are truly part of nature. Some of the staff come up from the lower 48 states every year. One of our guides that we used to take us to one of the local glaciers and national parks was a retired High School teacher. He and his wife come up every year in their motor home and then spend the summer at the Seward Windsong Lodge as hotel workers and naturalists. So the staff really know what they're doing as far as telling you what is happening within the ecology and how the landscape has changed over the Millennia. The rooms were absolutely quiet. We had been in there during High season and you could not hear anything that you didn't want to. They have free Wi-Fi and it worked well for us. Transportation into the town of Seward is available. The beds were comfortable and we slept soundly. If and when I go back to Alaska, I will try to stay at the Seward Windsong Lodge.

In a great location, a very nice hotel. You are just 8 mins from the Exit Glacier and 10 mins from the downtown strip (the Safeway is great). The rooms are good size, the beds are comfortable and the shower has enough pressure. It is important to know that the setup is nothing much to write home about, it costs a bunch. But in this remote part of Alaska it is ok. The star are the hotel grounds. Very well maintained and quiet. Do walk around and take in the calm. The staff at the hotel is friendly and helpful for the most part. In July 2021, they don't service the rooms and one inconvenience is that the trash might pile up and you don't know what to do with it.

Due to our Delta Airlines delayed flight and Delta misplacing our luggage, we missed our connecting flight out of Salt Lake City. We had a two night stay reserved at Windsong, we arrived a day late, as soon as we realized our late arrival was imminent we called Micheal at the 800 number on 8/13/25 at 4:06 to let Windsong know we had flight issues and we would be there as soon as we could. We have stayed at the Windsong before and were really looking forward to our time there again. When we arrived on 8/14/25 at 6:00 pm Lizzy greeted us and checked us in she was great, we asked about our missed stay for the night before and weather we would be billed and Lizzy said she would check with the Manager. We went to our room and then the Resurrection restaurant for our 7:00 pm reservation. We were greeted, seated and Rachel was our waitress, we ordered drinks and dinner, it went very poorly from there. We ordered and ice tea and a Margarita and never offered another, Rachel had a couple 2-4 person tables and 1 larger party and ignored us and was slow to other tables as well. After 45 minutes of waiting for our dinner, Rachel actually brought us our check and she realized we hadn't had our dinner yet, this should have been a wake up call but was not. After waiting over an hour and a half and watching others come in, order, have dinner and leave we asked for the Manager who was visiting other tables but skipped ours. We waited a while more for the Manager to address, watched her walk into the back and we decided to leave. As we were walking out, that's when the manager appeared, we explained the situation and she said Rachel had a big party and was probably distracted, this is the excuse we were given for terrible service, the server in the area next to her had the same amount of tables and a large party as well but seemed to be handling it a lot better, the Manager said she would take care of it. Our meal at this point was brought to us as we were standing at the hostess station talking to the Manager, we decided to sit back down and have dinner as opposed to leaving at that time, as we hadn't had a meal since the evening before. We returned to our table which had been cleared, still no offer for second drinks, we had to ask someone for another beverage. Joe had the crab mac n cheese with the chowder bread bowl and I had the Halibut Piccata, the food was very good. When Rachel brought the correct final check to the table there was there was still no offer for anything to drink or dessert. The Manager subtracted 25.00 off the bill which wasn't even enough to cover the two Margarita's, we paid the bill of 109.90 still tipping Rachel 19.78 for a total of 129.68 the tip was more than generous considering we were ignored and the service provided was terrible. When we were leaving we saw the Manager and we thanked her for the reduction on the bill and let her know there should have been more done, considering the poor attention and service, and we left. The next morning we went to Exit Glacier which we had done the last time we visited the Windsong, we did however miss a planned marine excursion in Seward due to delay in getting there and the tour company was gracious and understanding that we had no control over the situation and did offer a refund. At that point we went to the front desk to check out as we were leaving for our cruise, the Manager never came out of the office but the representative that checked us out stated that "due to only being open for 4.5 months they had a short window and had to make what they could" so no they would not provide a refund or offer any portion of a refund for the night missed. This doesn't seem to be a very good policy, reason or way to do business but this is what we were told. So our stay at the Windsong Lodge this trip was unfortunately not a pleasant one, this was a shame as we were really looking forward to staying there. We left and went on our cruise which was with Royal Caribbean which was incredible, other that the issues with Delta and the Windsong we had...

I love writing positive reviews. You can look over my history and find that most of my reviews are written to build-up businesses. In this case, I just can't do it.

From the initial web experience and phone call in to figure out reservations, red flags were waving all over the place. Their reservation and cancellation policies are one-sided and horribly unfriendly to the consumer. I understand not allowing cancellations at the last minute, but their payment schedule doesn't reflect the quality and demand you expect.

When I arrived, I was told I would have to change rooms in the middle of my visit because of how they'd broken up my reservation. I explained that wasn't going to work for me because of a recent surgery and the way I like to travel. After 30 minutes or more, they seemed to have got it worked out reluctantly. Somewhere in the pre-arrival mess, they added a night I didn't want and charged me. So we were stuck staying an extra night when we had a room in Anchorage to make our flight experience flow more smoothly. The top level manager wouldn't even hear my concern and was condescending and dismissive. After waiting 30 minutes after a nine hour flight, three hour car ride, I had no fight left in me and relented to my room.

Upon arrival at the room, we were met with state park level accommodations at 4.5-star, big city pricing. The room was clean with our very own BluRay DVD player, with no DVDs. Big kudos for the black-out curtains and comfortable beds. We received no offer of housekeeping nor did they ever show up to clean our room, even with the DND sign off the door. We dealt with two wash cloths and towels for our week-long stay.

We had reservations at the on-site restaurant only to discover the most bland, dry meal we could imagine. We were on the Kenai tour the next day when another lady admitted to eating there over the weekend and how bad it was. I was stuck eating breakfast there two days later to discover a mess. When the hostess asked for the number in our party, she rolled her eyes and was annoyed that we didn't make reservations. We took what table the could give us and the rest of our party didn't sit and eat, and went without. The buffet chaffing dishes stayed empty almost the entire time. When they would bring out refills, the line grew so long you couldn't make it through in a decent time. My friend and I just gave up and ate stale danishes for our $30+ price tag.

When it came meeting time in their facilities, there was no heat. We spent an entire day of meetings shivering. We asked for assistance, but it was never fixed. Random people from the staff kept coming into the room accidentally, not realizing there was a meeting in there. They'd walk in cluelessly like they wanted to take a break and then walk out immediately, slamming the door behind them. This happened three times so we had to put a sign on the door to tell them there was a session in progress.

When I finished my meetings, I discovered that we had been asked to leave our room and they had locked us out of the room where we couldn't access any of our belongings. My travel mate had to go fight that battle as my guest. There was some scribbled notes that verified what she was emploring them to believe at the front desk, so we got to keep our room and they re-issued our keys. We woke the next morning to no water.

The public restrooms for the men's facilities were disgusting. I promise, the men's urinal in the meeting space hasn't been cleaned in months. All the public restrooms smelled of filth.

While Seward is an amazing town, and we'll definitely come back, there's no way Windsong Lodge will con me out of my money again. The fact this place ranks so high on TripAdvisor hurts my heart, as TripAdvisor is my go-to site. This time, I...

We have stayed at the Windsong Lodge in the past and we were looking forward to this stay, unfortunitly due to Delta Airlines we missed our connecting flight ad we were delayed by a day we called The Alaskan Collection number were we booked our stay to let them know and we would be there the following day. When we checked in Lizzy greeted us, checked us in and was great, we asked about the previous nights billing as directed by Micheal at the Alaskan Collection and Lizzy said she would check with the manager and get back to us. We went to our room which was nice and the the Resurrection Restaurant were we were greeted and taken to a table, Rachel was our waitress and it promptly went down from there, Rachel had a few tables with one large table there was a second lager party with a waiter and there seemed to be additional help for this reason, we still waited over an hour Rachel even came to our table with a check and stated "oh you haven't had dinner yet" and left after another half an hour we asked for the Manager in the process watching several parties had been seated, ordered, had dinner and left, at that point we decided it was time to leave since the Manager had shown up either as we were walking out she came by and we explained what had happened and she said Rachel had a large table and was probably distracted which was as excuse, at that point Rachel came out with our dinner so we sat back down to a cleared table and slow service and slow drinks not to be asked if we had wanted dessert and the check was then bought again to our table. The Manager deducted 25.00 for the poor service and being ignored which by the way didn't cover the two Margarita's 28.00 but we pain it and still tipped Rachel 19.78 on a bill of 109.90 for a total of 129.68 for very good food and a very poor experience over all. We checked out the next morning after visiting Exit Glacier and were informed that the card would be charged the full amount for both days as "they are only open 4.5 months and have a short season" at which point we left for our cruise. We had a great time on Royal Caribbean. The Windsong Lodge was nice, as we remembered it there policy and explanation regarding a missed night which was out of our control could be better and the service at Resurrection Restaurant...
