Really thought this was going to be an okay one, but alas it turned into one of the worst 2-star hotel stays I’ve had. My partner and I typically camp but on occasion snag a cheap hotel for the night to get a shower or to make the mornings a little faster. Expectations are never high, we are quiet and keep to ourselves, and never want trouble. I was able to book a 1 queen bed room for two people for $61 on a Friday night. First impressions were bad. The lobby had a stream of water coming out of the ceiling and a wall outlet, it took longer than expected to find my reservation and the man behind the counter didn’t seem to know what he was doing, and our second key card wasn’t programmed correctly. Enjoyed most of our time after check-in, even though the sheets, towels, and floor were stained, shower faucet squealed, lamps were missing shades, fridge was covered in water, floor and mattress were ripped, TV had maybe seven working channels, despite being a smoking free establishment there were always a handful of people smoking on the balcony, you can hear everything outside through the window and door but sound between rooms is fairly quiet, bed was fairly comfortable but very sqeaky and the headboard had a dirty sock wedged in between it and the wall to keep it quiet. Whatever. The real issue happened just past 9pm after we had gotten a meal at Denny’s across the parking lot and were walking back to our room. As soon as we stepped foot into the hotel’s parking lot in the least suspicious manner possible, a lady started yelling at us from her SUV in front of the lobby. I ignore her, just trying to get back to my room and thinking she was just a drunk guest. She then yelled asking what our room number was and who we were. I told her I wasn’t comfortable giving her that information, not having a clue who she was. She then aggressively drove directly in front of us and my partner and I both backed up quickly thinking maybe she was going to drive into us. She demanded to know our room number and see our IDs. I repeated myself that I didn’t know who she was and was uncomfortable giving her that information for my safety. She yelled that I needed to drop my attitude she was head of security for the hotel, as she was not wearing any official security gear and was not in a security vehicle, and said she was going to kick us off the property immediately. I still had no idea who this woman was and was very scared that she was going to hurt or rob us. I was very close to calling the cops but didn’t want to make things worse. She demanded my ID and I gave it to her just trying to deescalate the situation. She yelled that everyone after 9pm was to be harassed by her security team as they didn’t want anyone not staying at the hotel on the property and she was going to send her men after us. My partner and I went into the lobby to talk to the owner expecting to get a further understanding of the situation and she was complacent with the woman’s behavior, saying that she was her daughter and the head of security and everyone needed to do everything she said. They needed my partners ID to put him on the room I had reserved. Why they hadn’t asked for his ID during check in where I had listed two people would be staying in the room and had him with me, or why was a warning that confrontational interrogations after 9pm was normal not offered to us, why my safety would be in question on your property and why you would support such behavior towards your guests, or that the security team would not be properly identified by any sort of official uniform was not communicated is beyond me, that we would be screamed at for crossing the parking lot instead of being welcomed and asked for our identification in a hospital manner. Never have I ever had such a horrible interaction with hotel “staff” anywhere I’ve stayed, and I’ve stayed in a lot of bad hotels! This is only the second bad review I’ve ever written to warn others about my experience. The next morning they wouldn’t even let us in the lobby and took our check-out keys back through a window. I’ve now seen two other reviews from the past month with similar issues with staff. Y’all are crazy. I hope you have a horrible business future. ||Update: I contacted the company that I booked through and they were zero help. They reached out to this hotel and of course the company denied all allegations. DO NOT STAY HERE!! DO NOT BOOK THROUGH PRICELINE THEY WILL...

Read moreStay here if you're desperate or if your nightly rate plus fees is $30 or less, it's not worth more than that. "Non-smoking room" with odor of smoke in every portion of room, even absorbed by dispenser tissues. Furnishings cheap and dated. Bathroom smelled of urine on arrival. Stained upholstery. Walls damaged and stained. Generally grimy. Windows did not open, so ventilation impossible. AC/heater wall unit had large hole of broken plastic. Room telephone plastic wall plug was broken off, terminating in exposed cables, conveniently tucked under bed. Large gap under bottom of entry door allowing freeway noises to enter freely--all the time. Tight bathroom/sink area creating awkward passage unless door closed to bathroom. Only antenna TV, with 8 channels detected but half of those with constant pixelated static and only one worthwhile English language working channel. Staff fine to interact with, though denied any available rooms to change to non-smoking room, even as we were multi-night guests and we saw other guests had checked out and new ones checked in after us. Three-story, no elevator in sight, if it exists, which was especially infuriating after a long tiring day and both our (and other guests') key cards failed and we had to walk them to the front desk for re-coding. Whoever manages or owns this place is taking cost cutting to slum...
